    Application and construction

    Capacitors are intended for the improvement of Power Factor in

    low voltage power networks. Used MKP technology which consistsof metallized PP film with extremely low loss factor. The dielectricsystem is selfhealing and has no liquid impregnant.

    Capacitor elements enclosed in cylindrical aluminium cases arefilled with a vegetable oil based gel which is nontoxic,biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

    The capacitors have overpressure protection to disconnect it

    from the supply in the event of internal failure and at the end of itsoperational life.

    The construction described above and the use of high qualitymaterials ensure reliability and longevity.

    Installation instructions

    Capacitors can be installed in any position. Mounting is by M10 stud on the base and this can also be used for the earth

    connection. Maximum tightening torque is 5 Nm. Connections are 5 mm screws, max torque 2 Nm. Connecting cables mustpermit the capacitor top to rise by 20 mm to ensure correct operation of the overpressure disconnector.

    Back up fuses should have gG characteristics and they should be rated at twice the nominal current of the capacitor(s).

    Attention ! It is necessary to connect the capacitors only by Cu wires

    For power 25 a 30 kvar to the terminal by torque of 2,5 Nm

    It is possible to delivery all types of capacitors in Al case diameter 85 and 110 mm with plastic cover forprotection IP 54 (see drawing 2ab on page 7) !

    MKV power capacitors are made of PP film as dielectric and

    both side metallized paper as electrodes. The capacitors areimpregnated with mineral oil and protected by overpressuredisconnector. The selfhealing dielectric prevents no failureoperation. Therefore its service reliability and characteristics aremaintained.

    Advantages

    The capacitors are selfhealing with low tg , the case is

    protected by an overpressure disconnector and equipped bydischarge resistors. Apart from MKP capacitors they have higher

    temperature range and longer durability.

    Installation instructions

    Capacitors can be installed in arbitrary position. Minimaldistance between units or between unit and wall is 50 mm.Earthing clamp M8 on the lid of case is necessary to tight by maxtwisting moment of 4Nm. Connecting cables are mounted tothreaded studs M6 or M12 by max torque of 3 Nm or 8 Nm.

    Installation instructions

    This type of capacitors is intended for installation where the fast load fluctuation isexpected. Switching by means of contactors cannot response to the fast changesand correct the reactive power demand in each time of period. The solution of this

    problem is to use fast automatic regulator with response delay 50 ms and staticswitching thyristors. For this application the capacitors must have 6 outlets.

    Disposal

    After the end of life time of capacitors is possible to dispose of them directlythrough the producer.
