Low EmissionsThe Shutter Valve is the first control valve to earn the strin-

gent API 641 certification, virtually eliminating the fugitive methane emissions that occur with traditional valve stem

designs, and which account for a large percentage of refinery methane emissions.

Lower Cost, Greater ValueOur valve is a safe replacement for globe valves used in

standard service process control applications, yet it requires only a fraction of the raw material to produce. The result

is a valve that is priced 50% to 80% less than an equivalent globe valve.

The Shutter Valve™ is a quarter-turn control valve, with a patented design derived from aerospace methods for fluid

control, sealing, and mechanical systems. Three interlocking petals form the adjustable aperture of each valve, smoothly pivoting with precise motion in the valve body, to transition

from a tight shutoff to full-port operation.

Low TorqueThe Shutter Valve’s interlocking petals open perpendicular to the flow direction of the liquid or gas being controlled, requiring a fraction of the mechanical force used to oper-ate a globe control valve with an equivalent C

for cheaper, smaller, lighter actuators that consume much less energy and take up much less space.

Longer LastingThe Shutter Valve’s curved petals are CNC machined to the ideal precise shape to dramatically reduce the cavitation and turbulence experienced with common control valve designs, even at high pressure drops. This significantly decreases wear on the valve mechanism and downstream piping, to ensure greater uptime and lower maintenance costs.
