Low e glass Low e glass is standard clear glass which has a special coating on

one surface, or one side of the glass.

Low e glass refers to low emissivity glass and this describes the

capacity for one surface of the glass to radiate heat. Low e glass has

been developed to minimize the amount of ultraviolet and infrared

light that can pass through the glass, without compromising the

amount of visible light that is transmitted.

Page 2: Low e glass

Features: High infrared reflectivity

Ability to directly reflect infrared thermal radiation

Low surface emissivity

Does not absorb external energy

Wide range of shading coefficient and

Ability to control sun light transmittance according to

needs, to cater to requirements of different areas

Advantages: Low e glass can reduce the amount of heat that is conducted

through the glass by around 30% compared to ordinary glass.

Low e glass further improves thermal efficiency by cutting glare

and preventing damage to interior furnishings caused by ultra-

violet rays.

Improves solar and thermal control

Reduces summer heat gain and winter heat loss

Decreases UV transmission such as furniture fading

Reduces condensation in double glazing
