ABOUT NILAM

With over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry, Nilam Holmes Patel is internationally renowned for creating beautiful eyebrows and is dubbed “The Eyebrow Queen”.

For 15 years Nilam specialised in permanent cosmetics. Using the leading permanent make-up system Nouveau Contour, Nilam is considered one of the best in her field. During her time as an educator for Nouveau Contour, Nilam hand-picked talented technicians and personally mentored them to work in her team using her methods and techniques.

More recently Nilam developed and launched the highly successful HD Brows brand. Interest from around the world has been huge and HD Brows has become the ultimate brow shaping treatment. Dermaspa houses the flagship HD Brows training academy that offers extensive training to students from all over the world. Her passion and vision for the brand is such that she hopes that HD Brows will change the face of eyebrow shaping and the way in which it is taught in beauty education.

In addition to advanced beauty therapy and permanent cosmetics, Nilam has worked with aesthetic doctors, cosmetic surgeons and dentists for many years building her knowledge and various laser therapies in aesthetic treatments including skin peels, laser therapy, dermal fillers and botox.

Dr’s Formula skin solution systems are used to target problems such as ageing, loose skin, cellulite, acne scarring and stretch marks. Treatments include Dr’s Formula skin peels, ultrasound skin resurfacing, collagen wave radio frequency skin tightening and collagen wave ultrasound fat/cellulite reduction. SKIN RESURFACER

Cryolipolysis is a non invasive procedure that targets and reduces fat without causing damage to other surrounding tissues. Where other forms of fat reduction use heat, Cryolipolysis reverses this theory and effectively eliminates fat from the body by freezing it. (POA)

Dermal fillers are used for plumping fine and deeper lines. They are effective in adding lost volume to areas of the face such as the lips, cheek bones, hollows of the cheeks, temples and tear trough area. GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers make the perfect gift and are redeemable against all of our treatments and products excluding treatments with visiting practitioners for example botox/fillers. Vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of issue and are non transferable or refundable.

We advise all our clients to read through the clinic terms and conditions before making a booking, these are put in place to safeguard the clinic and to ensure that maximum standards and services are offered to the client. In booking an appointment you are agreeing to our clinic terms and conditions as stated below.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We would like to remind our clients that in order to change or cancel your appointment we ask for up to 1 working days notice, this will give another client the opportunity to fill you space. Cancellations under 24 hours will incur loss of deposit.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS

All missed appointments without 24 hours notice will lose any deposit paid.

DEPOSITS

Permanent make-up appointments will require a £50 deposit at time of booking. Full payment is required for laser treatment courses prior to their treatment.

ARRIVAL TIME

We ask that all clients arrive 10 minutes prior to their appointment.

CONSENT/ CONSULTATION FORMS

A number our treatments will require you to fill out a consent form prior to the treatment procedure which will be filed for future reference and treated with the utmost confidence.

NOISE LEVELS

We ask all our clients to keep noise to a minimum during your visit and that all mobiles are switched to ‘silent’ for the consideration of other clients receiving relaxing treatments nearby.

CHILDREN

For insurance reasons and the comfort of other clients, we regret that we can not have children under the age of 14 in the clinic.

TARIFF

We reserve the right to amend, modify and alter the tariff for individual treatments and packages without prior notice.

We do not guarantee results for any treatments. This is due to working on the human body which responds differently from person to person. We can guarantee that we will use our best judgement to obtain the best possible results for you.

CAN ANYONE HAVE LASER HAIR REDUCTION ?

During your consultation your practitioner will professionally assess whether they feel a laser hair reduction treatment will have a noticeable effect to remove unwanted hair. Unfortunately laser hair reduction is not 100% proven to work on clients with very fair hair.

CAN I HAVE THE TREATMENT ON THE SAME DAYAS MY CONSULTATION ?

For your safety we always carry out an in depth consultation and patch test before carrying out a treatment. Your practitioner maybe be able to start treatment straight away, however this is all dependent on a number of factors and how the practitioner feels your skin may react to the laser system.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED ?

It is not possible to determine the exact number of treatments required by each client due to the following factors which affect the efficiency of the treatment:

WHAT IS A REALISTIC EXPECTATION ?

Permanent hair reduction is achieved when a follicle is thermally destroyed and not able to grow a terminal hair again. Since there is a gradual and cumulative reduction with each treatment session, the hair density should decrease each time.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE?

Patients should refrain from applying topical medications or irritating agents to the skin for 1-2 days prior to treatment. Skin should be clean with no lotion, perfume, make up or sunscreen the day of treatment. We advise refraining from waxing and tweezing at least 4 weeks prior to treatment and allow 2 weeks post filler and injectable.

DOES THIS TREATMENT HURT?

You will experience a little discomfort but not pain. The sensation is often described as a snapping feeling that lasts for only a fraction of a second. You may feel warmth or a tingling sensation for a short time afterward. Most people tolerate treatment without any topical anaesthetic.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER TREATMENT?

You may observe a pinkness on the skin surface that is temporary and most people return to work or normal activity immediately after treatment. The treated area will “shed” some hairs over the next 2-4 weeks and many clients experience a period of hairlessness in the treated area while waiting for the next session. After treatment, be sure to avoid the sun and apply sunscreen to treated area for at least 3 days after treatment. Indirect heat should be avoided for at least 2 days after treatment.

Excessive or unsightly body hair can be upsetting for both men and women and difficult or inconvenient to remove.

Laser hair reduction is a rapid, yet gentle way of removing unwanted hair, studies have shown that it can result in permanent removal of unwanted hair over time. Statistics show that 60-95% of targeted hair is permanently gone after the recommended course of treatments.

Our ipl laser and Diode laser hair removal machines are extremely effective in removing unwanted hair, our specialist practitioner will advise on the most appropriate type of treatment based on your particular skin type.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PERMANENT COSMETICS?

Permanent make-up is a cosmetic form of tattooing. Using computerised technology, pharmaceutical grade pigments are ‘tattooed’ into the upper dermis of the skin to define lips, eyes and brows.

Permanent cosmetics are the future of the beauty industry and are being used increasingly for cosmetic and ‘medical’ purposes to compliment the work of surgeons, aesthetic doctors and ophthalmologists.

Permanent cosmetics can be used to enhance your features for those who simply want to look better naturally, or to create a more made up look for those who don’t want to spend hours in front of the mirror.

As the results of this treatment can be as subtle or dramatic as desired, permanent cosmetics are suitable for both women and men of all ages.

EYEBROWS

This is the perfect treatment for people with little or no eyebrows and those with scars through the brow. You can choose from a natural hair stroke effect or a soft powdered effect depending on the look you would like to create.

All eyebrow treatments include a free 2nd application between 1 and 3 months. This is not always necessary, but may be required if the colour does not heal evenly. If a further top up is required a small charge will be incurred.

This treatment is ideal for those who always wearlipstick and those who have lost the colour or shapeof the lip through the ageing process. An uneven lipshape can be corrected and small lips can be madeto look fuller and more youthful.

EYES

This treatment is suitable for anyone that wants to enhance their eye shape, size and colour. It is perfect for sporty types and contact lens wearers.

A lash enhancement with soft shading or tiny dots between the lashes, gives the appearance of thicker looking lashes and giving definition to the eye.

For a more made-up look you can choose from a soft shaded or pearl effect eyeliner to a dark liner effect.

All lip and eye treatments include a free 2nd application between 1 and 3 months. This is not always necessary, but may be required if the colour does not heal evenly. If a further top up is required within six months of the original treatment, a small charge will be incurred. Should you wish to upgrade your lip or eyeliner, effect, the difference in cost will be incurred.

Subtle eyelash enhancement

PARAMEDICAL

Permanent make-up is an excellent treatment to assist those who have lost their eyelashes and brows through alopecia and chemotherapy.

It can be used to create the colour and shape of the areola after breast reconstructive surgery or to correct the shape of uneven areola. It is also effective when used to camouflage scars and small areas of vitiligo.

Paramedical treatments are heavily reliant on the condition of the skin and nature of the scar/condition, therefore we cannot guarantee results. Multiple treatment maybe required to achieve the best result.

CORRECTIONAL

Old permanent cosmetics and poor work can be improved using correctional techniques.

Results of correctional procedures cannot be guaranteed as they are experimental in nature and the success relies on the nature of the original application.

Multiple treatments are often required to get optimum results and hence extra top up costs may be incurred.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TREATMENT?

After an initial consultation, the shape and colour of your treatment is agreed between the client and the technician and the pigment is placed in to the skin accordingly.

WILL I GET MY RESULTS STRAIGHT AWAY?

The colour will be approximately 50% darker and a lot stronger for up to a week after treatment. The area will become dry and flaky 3-7 days after the treatment. You can usually go about your daily routine immediately but some clients experience some swelling and redness which normally subsides within 48 hours. After 1 week your colour will appear to have disappeared but the pigment will start to develop between two to six weeks. After your first application you may find your colour has not healed evenly, this is dependent on your skin and personal healing process. This is normally balance in you second ‘top up’ procedure.

HOW LONG WILL THE EFFECTS LAST?

Some pigment will remain in the skin permanently but will gradually fade over time, it varies from client to client but generally last between 9 months to 3 years. Eyebrows tend to fade faster than eyes and lips. The colour will start to fade as the skin exfoliates and we recommend a colour boost between 12 and 24 months to maintain freshness. You may experience a change in the tone of colour and may fade faster, this is out of our control and differs from one client to another. Medical conditions and medicines can cause pigment to fade faster.

WHAT ABOUT ALLERGIC REACTION?

Tattoo pigments have been used for thousands of years and reactions are very rare. Noveau Contour pigments are of the highest grade and are hypo-allergenic. A patch test is

required prior to treatment.

DOES PERMANENT MAKE UP WORK ON ALL SKIN TYPES?

We have found that permanent make up results can be unsuccessful on some skin types, these include clients with very oily skin and large open pores in the treatment area. We have also found that alopecia and chemotherapy patients tend to have uneven healing and poor colour retention. Additional top-up treatments maybe required at a small cost however it is strongly inadvisable to tattoo any are more than three times within the period of a year. We can never guarantee results but we always use our best judgement to obtain the best result possible. You will be professionally advised during your consultation if we feel you are not suitable for the treatment. Pregnant or nursing mothers are not able to have permanent cosmetics.

WHAT IF FASHIONS CHANGE?

We would never perform a treatment that is too dramatic or trendy, the idea is to enhance rather than change your features. Colours are chose to compliment your skin tone, hair and eye colour.

IS THERE A CHANCE OF INFECTION?

The strictest sterilisation procedures are adhered to at all times. A new single use disposable sterile needle is used for your complete safety. All procedures conform to the British and European Health and Safety standards. Lip treatments may occasionally cause a cold sore, clients who are prone to an outbreak should use a topical treatment for a few days beforehand.

MAINTENANCE/COLOUR BOOST

Once you have had your initial permanent make up procedure the colour will begin to fade gradually. The longevity of your result depends on a number of factors including medication, exposure to the sun and the rate at which your skin exfoliates.

On average the colour will remain visible for approximately 9 months to 3 years although you may have particles or pigment in the skin permanently. We recommend a colour boost approximately ever 12-18 months to keep your results looking fresh. This involves a single visit in most cases although some clients may require a top up on this procedure within three months. If this top is required, there will be a small charge.

We have found that clients with alopecia, clients that have had or are having treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and acne treatment do not retain colour as well, so colour boosts are required more frequently.

To prolong colour retention we advise limited exposure to the sun and any products which may exfoliate the skin. We advise use of barrier cream and a cream of a least 30spf to protect whilst swimming or sunbathing.

HOW TO FIND US

PLEASE NOTE• If using Satellite Navigation please make sure you

choose the option - Newport Road A5130• Always head towards Milton Keynes when leaving

Junction 14 and not Newport Pagnell, whatever your Sat Nav may say...

• Due to incorrect area codes which are unfortunately out of our control, some satellite navigation systems place us in Newport Pagnell

The Clinic is just off Junction 14 of the M1 opposite the entrance to Broughton Village, our building is a beautifully finished barn conversion.

MOTORWAY M1

• Exit the motorway at junction 14 and from the roundabout take the exit signposted A509 MILTON KEYNES

• At the next available roundabout (northfield roundabout) take the first exit left signposted Broughton, Coachway, Park and Ride, A1530.

• Continue along this road through the traffic lights and passed the ‘Welcome to Broughton’ sign’ on your right. You will see the new housing development to your left.

• We are situated immediately after the housing estate finishes on your left in a gated development called Brooklands Farm. Please look for our Dermaspa sign on your left, opposite this you will see the entrance to Broughton Village and the Hungry Horse pub.

• Turn left into Brooklands Farm developement, the gates will automatically open as you approach and we are the double storey building directly ahead of you.

A5 SOUTH

• Leave the A5 at Milton Keynes West and take the third exit on the roundabout onto Bletcham Way

• Go over the next roundabout (Caldecotte roundabout) and you will start to pick up the signs for the M1 Northampton and Bedford.

• At the next roundabout continue to follow these signs, you will now be on the H10. Take the first exit at the Brownswood roundabout onto the V11.

• Continue along the V11 (following signs for the M1 Northampton and Bedford) until you reach the H6. Follow the H6 towards the M1. At the Northfield roundabout take the third exit towards Broughton, Coachway, Park and Ride, A1530.

• Continue along this road through the traffic lights and passed the ‘Welcome to Broughton’ signs. A5 NORTH

• leave the A5 at Milton Keynes Central and East and go onto the H5 towards central Milton Keynes. Continue along the A5 past the Milton Keynes shopping centre and Willen Lake. At the Northfield roundabout take the second exit signposted Broughton, Coachway onto the A1530.

• Continue along this road through the traffic lights and passed the ‘Welcome to Broughton’ signs.
