PH ARTICHOKE has enthralled people ever since it was launched with its distinctive design and

atmospheric illumination.

PH ARTICHOKE has successfully kept pace with technological developments within lighting

without losing any of its magical appeal.

Challenges have continually been addressed, so that PH ARTICHOKE has always been able to

provide optimal lighting when comfortable and atmospheric illumination is required. And al-

ways with the aim of minimising energy consumption. LED is today’s light source, and new ad-

vances are constantly being made.

Optimisation of an iconic ambience

Like all PH products, the point-shaped light source was central to the design

of the leaves. The relative angling and placement of the leaves was key to

the distribution of the light and the self-illumination of the lamp. It all looks

so simple, but everything is finished down to the smallest detail.

Replacing a light source may seem straightforward, but it is a highly complex

process.

Positioning of the light source is crucial to the experience of PH ARTICHOKE,

and Louis Poulsen has never compromised in this respect.

After adaptation for LED bulbs, the PH ARTICHOKE is

now dimmable, further enhancing its image as an

extremely atmospheric light fixture.

LED adaptation has also resulted in considerable

energy savings, as the wattage has fallen from 500W

to 96W without detracting from the atmospheric

illumination.

With the new LED light unit, existing lighting sys-

tems can be adapted for LED lighting without hav-

ing to buy a new PH ARTICHOKE.

The driver and the light unit can be purchased as a

separate set and installed in existing PH ARTI-

CHOKES with three-wire suspension, so that exist-

ing light fixtures can be updated with the latest

LED technology and energy savings.

The new version of PH ARTICHOKE comes with a

modified wire mounting set that greatly facilitates

suspension.

It is now possible to adjust everything on the

actual product thanks to a brand new and secure

mounting system. The wires can now be steplessly

adjusted easily and without the need for tools. The

wire is loosened by unscrewing the nut at the top.

Then press the ring down to release the wire so it

can be pulled up and down as required. The nut is

then tightened to lock the wire in position.

Concept: The fixture provides 100% glare-free light. The 72 precisely positioned leaves form 12 unique rows of six leaves each. They illuminate the fixture as well as emitting diffused light with a unique pattern. The fixture provides decorative and comfortable lighting. For the energy saving LED variant the quality of light and atmosphere surrounding the product is kept at the highest level.

Finish: Copper or stainless steel, brushed and coated. White, wet painted. Clear glass, sandbla-sted.

In connection with the new adjustment and suspension system, a new canopy has been designed with a recessed LED driver. As can be seen from the item no. list, the driver can also be ordered in a separate box for mounting on the ceiling. The new ceiling rose design harmonises with the PH Artichoke’s lowest curves.

Can be purchased separately to replace existing light units in PH ARTICHOKE pendants with three-wire suspension.
