COMPANY ALLIANCES
A promising joint venture for the LDP Group
Louis de Poortere is now a business partner of the Acvila Group in Moldavia for the production of woven face-to-face wool products. Acvila is an important player in Eastern Europe with ultra modern manu-facturing technology. The Group has expanded its turnover in the last few years and exceeded 50 million Euros in 2008. The design teams of both groups have been working closely together to cre-ate some attractive new developments for the market. We will shortly be launching a new collection of runners for halls and stairs called Renaissance. This range will comprise and eclectic mix of design styles and colour themes.
Louis de Poortere sent his son Jean to the United States with the objective to establish a commer-cial subsidiary in North America. This courageous decision proved to be an important development in the history of Louis de Poortere. Driven by the success of the American commitment, Jean fol-lowed his father and shared his love of the United States with all his colleagues in the company. From that point on, his enthusiasm and inspiration stamped a per-manent US footprint on all new product developments at LDP. This wonderful road of success was partially broken in the late 1990’s due to the economic dif-ficulties of that time. At this stage a decision was made to go into partnership with a solid and successful US company: Prestige Mills. Today, having successfully relaunched our European markets, LDP wish to revert to our tradi-tional roots, a wish expressed by our founder Louis and control di-rectly once again the affairs of the American market, the number one for lovers of beautiful carpets. I would like to thank Prestige Mills and their team for the sup-port they brought in this difficult period and I welcome the assured presence of our friend Eddie Hol-lier who will have the challenging mission to represent all of us in this exciting market. PDR.

CUSTOM PROJECTS
Louis de Poortere produces an exclusive carpet
The designers at Louis de Poortere have cre-ated all the carpets for the exclusive luxury Hotel Kempinski, in Porto Roz, Slovenia on the Adriatic coast.
