Transcript of Louella Sans finished
A display typeface including glyphs & numbers, Louella Sans is the first sans serif typeface made directly for
use within fashion. With fashion branding and identity being mainly dominated by fancy serif type, Louella sans
adds a new edge to this market. The classy design ties in high end old fashioned type with a contemporary
twist.
The idea for Louella Sans comes from tieing in elements from traditional serif typefaces which usually domi-
nate the fashion industry however incorporating them within a sans serif typeface, adding a potential much
needed contemporary twist to the market.

Letter Design Rules:
Using a strict set of guidelines throughout each of the characters the individual forms of the letters
kind of built themselves, applying the same widths and heights throughout the ascenders, terminals
and bowls of each letter. However it was applying the circles to the ears/terminals of the letter which
became complicated trying to make the letter form flow perfectly.
Rounded
Symmetrical
Constructed from straight lines/rectangles and symmetrical circles
Same size throughout all ascenders, terminals & circles
Based on contemporary European sans serif typefaces
Sizes of all circle tinials/ears all related to the size of the stem.
