Reflexive VerbsReflexive verbs describe actions done to or for oneself. In English, reflexive pronouns end in -self or -selves and show that the subject both does and receives the action of the verb

Reflexive Verbs are expressed with a reflexive pronoun. The reflexive Pronoun is the same as the Direct Object Pronoun.

Hint: You can recognize a reflexive verb when there is a “se” after the infinitive, or when the direct object pronoun matches up with the verb conjugation. They often refer to actions having to do with your daily personal routine.

Formation of….• Just like with direct objects, when the verb is conjugated, the pronoun goes before the

verb. When it is following a conjugated verb or in the infinitive, the pronoun can be tacked on afterwards.

*Reminder: The direct object pronoun refers to whom the action is being done. The verb conjugation goes according to who is completing the action. With reflexive verbs, these will always be the same, so they should match up. e.g) I wake up at eight o’clock.I am the one waking up and waking myself up, so I would say: Me despierto a las ocho. With some verbs it is not readily apparent that the action is reflexive, so you will have to memorize the verb as such.
