TAKE TIME OUT TO
DISCOVER WHITEMAN
PARK’S FOURTEEN
KILOMETRE NETWORK OF
SHARED-USE PATHS.
A CHANCE TO TAKE A RIDE ON THE WILD SIDE.WonderfulWhiteman Park is a unique recreation and
conservation reserve that covers nearly 4,000 hectares of natural bushland and leisure facilities in Perth’s north-east.
Bring your bike to the Park and enjoy riding along our 14 kilometre network of cycling paths.
For more advanced riders, link your ride with the Swan Valley bicycle path network. Whiteman Park can be accessed from West Swan Road via Harrow Street, although there is no cycle path on this road.
There are five simple guidelines you should follow when cycling within the Park:
1. Remember to take plenty of water with you.
2. Helmets are required by law and normal road rules apply within the Park’s bounds.
3. All bicycle paths are dual-use. As such, pedestrians have right of way and speed should be kept to a minimum. Please use your bell when approaching pedestrians.
4. Be wary wherever paths run through bush areas, in case you encounter some of the Park’s wildlife.
5. On higher fire danger days, or if taking young and/or inexperienced riders into the bush, please register your ride at the Visitor Information Centre. Alternatively, this can be done via mobile phone to 9209 6000.
Visit Revolutions for copies of the Department of Transport’s comprehensive range of cycling brochures, or visit their website at www.transport.wa.gov.au/activetransport
