With Tyne and Wear Homes you can apply for properties from Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside and South Tyneside Councils and their housing organisations.

Each local authority operates under its own lettings policy, meaning you could be awarded a higher priority for housing in some areas than in others.

To apply for a home with The Gateshead Housing Company, you need to be a member of the Tyne and Wear Homes scheme.

1 How to apply forTyne and Wear Homes

Register online at www.tyneandwearhomes.org.uk

You must complete all sections of theapplication form, and you will need toprovide certain documents andproofs of ID.

2 Once you are registered

You will be sent details of:

• Your registration date

• Your category of need

• Your unique reference number

• Your memorable date.

You will need this information to be able to bid for properties.

3 How to bid on a home

• Homes are advertised every week at www.tyneandwearhomes.org.uk/Data/ASPPages/1/30.aspx - bid anytime between 00.01am Thursday and 11.59pm Monday

• You can bid for up to three properties per advert cycle - but you don’t have to bid at all if you don’t fi nd anything suitable

• Each individual advert states howthe property will be allocated

• Applicants at the top of the listwill be invited to view theproperty, then move in if their application is successful.
