Since we started twothirds…— much has happened. But most importantly, we have never lost the dream that each of us has within – the power to change the world. All we need to do is to make the difference, and to understand that sometimes it takes doing the impossible to achieve the possible.

This catalogue is just a snapshot, the attempt to capture our essence. It is a journey that mixes clothes design, surfing, photography, collages and some of the most inspiring landscapes in the Basque Country. For S/S 2011, we have developed a surf-inspired casual streetwear collection with a timeless look, showing the bright and saturated blue shades of the ocean.

twothirds…— was established in San Sebastian, heart of the Basque Country. Its founders started a surf-inspired street label to be set apart from rest. Transcending the boundaries of street and sports apparel, twothirds is quickly becoming a lifestyle brand, free from passing trends. It stands for pure design, high quality sustainable fabrics and a deep connection to the ocean.

The name twothirds comes from the notion that two-thirds of our planet is covered by ocean. It is what makes us who we are and what gives us so much joy. We aim to address like-minded people, whoare awake and aware of the immense value of our oceans and are deeply connected to surfing but also have a thirst for style and substance. More than just another green brand, we like to think of twothirds as the blue company.

As watermen… — we’ve long been lovers of the sea, the sheer beauty of ocean life and of surfing. This love is expressed through our need to protect what we love most, our oceans. But we know we can’t do it alone. So we have partnered up with Oceana, a global ocean conservation organization that shares our core values.

> Oceana’s team of marine scientists and advocates are probably the most passionate people we’ve ever come across. They effect specific and concrete policy changes to reduce pollution and to help prevent the irreversible collapse of populations of fish and other marine life. It is the world’s biggest organisation dedicated exclusively to the protection and preservation of the oceans.

The commitment of twothirds to our oceans and to Oceana will not only be expressed through a variety of company initiatives and creative activism to engage our community. We will also support Oceana and its mission to protect the world’s oceans with the donation of 10 percent of our proceeds from every fine twothirds garment sold.

The Sentinel, — one of the most important components of twothirds

A twothirds Sentinel…— is someone that lives for the ocean, world famous or unknown. Someone that puts his talent and passion to protecting and pre-serving our oceans. Essentially, they are informal ambassadors flying the flag of twothirds in a variety of subcultures, such as surf, music, film, art and environmental activism.

Our creative partnerships with these twothirds-Sentinels might be sometimes tight and sometimes loose. twothirds will always seek for creative ways and partnerships to load up the single sentence that summarizes our Brand Ethos:
