Summer 2021 plays around with contrasts: lots of volume and minimalist design. Flowing fabrics versus structured fabrics. Monochrome or patterns mixed together. All of these ingredients make for a fresh new take on summer dressing. Key items are dresses and the wide linen trousers. Dresses are long, short and everything in between. From easy maxi-dresses, kaftans and oversized linen tunics to wrap dresses and short voluminous frocks with

shoulder pads. Linen trousers are an elegant alternative on hot summer days. Thanks to a perfect fit and combined with the right accessories, they easily transform an

outfit from casual to elegant. Volume is also created through details such as puff sleeves and flared legs. Chunky knitwear adds a cool contrast to bias cut skirts and skinny denims, manufactured in our sustainable denim programme. For summer 2021, Summum has given its own twist to international trends, creating a wearable,

easy-to-combine and very attractive collection.

The buying period takes place from the 19th Octoberup to and including the 13th November.

This summer will be grand and compelling due to the voluminous

yet sharply cut silhouettes. It is a powerful new look with oversized

jumpers, large shirts and tops and dresses with shoulder pads. Dresses

stay important during the summer season, from long kaftan styles to

short versions with broad shoulders. They come in monochrome or

have cheerful prints featuring paisley, dots and flowers. We’re taking

patterns to the next level this season, combining them on one piece,

like flowers on snakeskin.

Volume can also be found in the sleeves with frills, ruffles and in

balloon shapes. Trousers are on the loose, too - with a high waist,

straight, wide legs and in the flair shape. However, the must-have

items for your summer wardrobe are the linen trousers. You can wear

them just as easily to the beach or out to dinner. And shorts are the

perfect alternative to dresses. Wear them with an oversized shirt and

sneakers during the day. At night, you can gracefully combine them

with the satin one-shoulder top and heels.

In this capsule collection, where shape and material dominate

the looks, the colours are soft and inspired by nature. White, ivory,

coconut and black all match the green tea and soft green tea as an

exciting add-on.

‘Big’ and ‘wide’ are still key words at the height of summer, but the

overall look of capsule 5 is a little softer and more romantic than that

of capsule 4. It all starts with the colours. White, ivory and black remain,

but are complemented with ash pink. The colours go hand-in-hand

with the denims in classic washes or a very light blue wash to create

that ultimate summer feeling. Evergreens such as the skinny jeans

complement the voluminous tops perfectly. Each season, we continue

to invest in more sustainable fabrics and production methods. For our

denims, that involves less water and fewer chemicals, resulting in a

smaller impact on mankind and nature.

Dresses remain important. The monochrome palette and all-over

print make their appearance once again, with the wavy multi-coloured

stripes and embroidered flower pattern. The accentuated sleeves are

also still going strong: from very detailed to no sleeves at all. Here we

see the accent move to the neckline, as seen in the halter tops and

dresses or sleeveless jumpers. Knitwear is light and airy, in the form

of crochet-look polo shirts.

Interestingly, many of the trends in capsule 5 reappear in an

extended version of the trends in capsule 4. The result is a

perfect summer wardrobe in which all of the capsules can be so

easily and -naturally - combined.

30245: 50% cotton, 50% EcoVero modalThis fabric is a blend of cotton and modal. Just like viscose, modal is made from cellulose fibres from beech trees. EcoVero modal by Lenzing has a positive CO2 footprint. Lenzing’s closed loop production process keeps both emissions and water consumption to a minimum. In comparison with cotton, the production process for Lenzing’s modal requires considerably less land and 10 to

20 times less water.

BLUE DAZE:5081: 98% organic cotton, 2% elastane

This denim fabric is made up of 98% recycled cotton. The cotton was grown under strictly controlled conditions, without genetic modification and without the use of toxic pesticides or other harmful chemicals. For the wash, only

recycled water was used. Organic cotton is a more environmentally friendly and ethically responsible alternative to conventional cotton. The processing of organic cotton takes place using more environmentally friendly methods and under good

working conditions.

KNIT:7s5574-7825: 100% organic cotton

The yarn in this knit is 100% organic cotton. The cotton is grown under strictly controlled conditions, without genetic modification and without the use of toxic pesticides or other

The leather used is residual waste from the European food industry and is processed and coloured by a Dutch tannery. The buckles and other metal

parts are nickel free.
