The warmest areas, seen here in red, show where heat isbeing lost from thebuilding.

Red areas havebeen eliminatedafter fittingenergy-efficientwindows.

We have dedicated significanttime and money in developinga range of energy-efficientproducts, all of which arecapable of achieving thehighest Window Energy Rating(WER) values.

The WER system allowsconsumers to makefair comparisons (based onenergy-efficiency) betweendifferent windows, much thesame as with white goods, such as washing machinesand dishwashers.

CasementWindowsThe casement has long been one of the most popular window styles inthe UK, thanks to the ingenious simplicity of its operation.

Decades of investment and innovation have made it one of the most secure, thermally efficient and attractive windows available, which can be tailored toany sized space.

Top or side-hung, the casement offers the practicality and longevity to suit everystyle of property, and every kind of lifestyle. When an egress hinge is used, youcan then clean the outside pane of glass from the inside.

Furniture colour options are available in white, gold and chrome.Other colours may be available on request.

French Casem entThe French casement offers the same benefits of theclassic casement, but with a little extra versatility.

Both sashes open almost a full 90º and when openedsimultaneously, one casement carries the central mullion,to provide unrestricted space and rapid ventilation.

Our French casements are ideal to keep you and yourfamily safe when used as a fire escape on narrowwindows. When an egress hinge is used, you can thenclean the outside pane of glass from the inside.

Attention to detail carries through to all aspects of the design, withfeatures such as optional astragal glazing bars and sash horns, formore traditional properties. For a modern twist on this classic design,we offer a wide range of contemporary colours, such as cream orwhite foiled, to add a real statement piece to your home. Both sashesalso tilt in for cleaning purposes.

Fully ReversibleCommonly used in the upper floors of houses and flats, wherecleaning from the outside can be problematic, the fully reversiblerotates 180º, to allow for safe indoor cleaning.

Even when fully rotated, the opening sash does not enter the room, meaning that indoor furniture can be positioned close to the window,

without obstructing its operation.

The fully reversible is very popular in Scotlandand Northern Ireland, where it satisfies

slightly different buildingregulations.

Tilt Before

Bays and Bows

Tilt before turn windows provide the ideal solution forlocations where window safety and window accessmay be an issue. The unique concealed hardwaredesign, means that the window can be set in one oftwo positions, either tilted or fully opening inwards.

As a result of the unique properties of the tilt beforeturn window, they are ideal for apartments or flats, fromthe ground floor up, allowing for ventilation and easycleaning from within the property.

Bay and bow windows not only add distinctionand character to a house - they add space too.

The ‘arc’ of the bow window offers a larger internalwindow ledge area and the bay actually extends thefootprint of the room it fronts.

Either way - the additional space and light, combined with the high visual impact, make bothstyles of window an extremely popular choice.

Tilt TurnTILTED POSITION

This position allows a window to tilt openinwards, providing good ventilation, butwithout compromising safety.

When using a locking handle, this positioncan be used without the need of a key.

TURNED POSITION

The whole sash opens out intothe room, allowing for easycleaning or maintenance.

For child safety, a key is requiredto allow the window to fully open.

Glass is a costly investment and onethat your customer doesn’t want toget wrong. Whether it’s double, triple, coated or coloured, it’s always adifficult choice.

Once, all windows had to do was let inlight, but no longer. Glazing is required tocontribute towards the thermal propertiesof a home and triple glazing outperformsthe rest. However, it can be expensivecompared to double glazed, although somecustomers are prepared to go the extra mile.

It’s worth pointing out that triple glazing canfurther reduce heat loss through the windowcompared to double glazing, making it amore efficient product.

Whe re can I us e triple glazing? The key benefit of triple glazing is itsthermal efficiency, which means that thehouse uses less energy to heat and stayswarmer for longer.

An advantage of choosing triple glazing,is that your customer can maximise thesize of the window to let in as much naturaldaylight as possible, without having toworry too much about its energy-efficiency.That makes triple glazing a great choice forfrench and bi-fold doors.

Doe s triple glazing have s pe cialcoatings ?It is possible to have up to two panes oflow-emissivity (Low E) metallic coatedglass, as part of your triple glazed unit. The Low E coating is designed to conductvisible light, whilst controlling the passageof the heat, both into and out of the home.Heat, which would otherwise be lostthrough glazing without a Low E coating.

Do our products acce pt triple glazing?Yes, all our main window and door profilesaccept triple glazing.

The one thing to bear in mind, is that tripleglazed units weigh more than doubleglazing.

Argon FilledAll of our glazing units are argon filled, asstandard. By changing the air between thepanes of glass for argon gas, the unit has agreater degree of thermal performance andcost efficiency.

Aluminium Spacer BarAluminium spacer bars are currently used in double glazed windows.Light but strong, their flexibility means that they can be formed intoa wide variety of shapes and sizes. Less expensive than warm edgespacers, they are, however, less effective in insulating against heat lossthan warm edge spacer bars.

Warm Edge Spacer BarWarm edge (or thermal break) spacers, reduce the heatlost around the perimeter of a double glazed window, byreplacing conventional aluminium with a low heat-conductive material. As with aluminium, thermalbreak spacer bars are filled with a siliconedesiccant, to absorb any moisture within thedouble glazed unit. Thermal break spacerbars further reduce condensation onthe room-facing surface of thedouble glazing window, as theytransmit less of a temperaturedifference to the interior pane.
