The production occupies 10.4% in total mining production, with annual production of 340 million tons. Most of those mines located in southwest of China, and more than 50% of them are designed by our exclusive engineering partner, Sichuan Coal Design and Research Institute (States-Owned Engineering Institute). Mining Methods Brief There are two mining methods used in thin seam coal, one is thin seam drum shearer mining, and another is thin seam coal plough mining. Coal plough mining method cannot be used in some coal mines with many faultage. There are more than 50 sets of low seam equipment supplied to market by HOT annually. (Low Coal Seam Longwall Mining) Fully Mechanized Mining (FMM)
1. Thickness of Coal Seam. FMM method can be used in most of thin coal seam, now we can use this method in 0.8 m thin coal seam successfully.
2. Coal Seam Pitch. 35°is normal for FMM method in thin coal seam; and the biggest coal seam pitch of our FMM practice in China is 45°. Many coal mines in Panzhihua are thin coal seam with large dip angle (most of them are about 40°~45°).
Drum Shearer Mining Method
This method can Adapt to 0.8～1.8m thin coal seam, Coal Seam Pitch≤45°. Capacity can satisfy 500,000~1,200,000 tons per annum.

Coal Plough Mining Method
This method can Adapt to 0.7～1.7m thin coal seam, Coal Seam Pitch≤45°. Capacity can satisfy 500,000~1,200,000 tons per annum. The length of coal face shall be 80~200m, strike length shall be more than 400m.
