1 Warnings

• After spraying, use water to clean the solutiontank and pipeline. This is especially importantfor corrosive chemicals.

• Strongly corrosive chemicals (such as peroxyaceticacid) may damage the unit. Limit to occasionaluse.

• Do not use fogger near flammable surroundings.Never run the unit in the presence of an openflame.

• Do not leave a running fogger unattended.

• Wear ear protection.

• Some components can get hot while spraying.

• Let the unit cool down before adding more solu-tion or fuel. Do not transport or pack the unitwhile it is hot.

2 Warnings for indoor operation

• In closed spaces, operator should wear a breath-ing mask.

• Some aerosol carriers at high concentrations be-come flammable. Do not exceed these limits per1000 m3.

4 Operation

First-time setup

1. Attach fogging tube adapter to the barrel. Lockthe spring coil.

2. Install 4 x 1.5V batteries into the battery com-partment at the base of the nozzle.

3. Push down on the accelerator button to makesure it is off.

4. Check the ignition by pressing down on the igni-tion button. You should hear a buzzing sound,“ta ta ta ...”

To start spraying

1. Fill the fuel tank using the included fuel funnel.Tighten fuel tank lid firmly.

2. Fill the solution tank using the included solutionfunnel. Fill to about two-thirds full.

5

3. Turn the solution tap to the OFF position.

off clean on

4. Pull up the accelerator button.

5. While holding down the ignition button, gentlyand slowly push and pull the air pump.

6. If your unit includes an automatic cutoff device, swing the handle to the right.

7. Wait 1 minute for the unit to warm up.

8. To start spraying, turn the solution tap to theON position and wait 10 seconds.

6

9. Adjust the solution flow rate knob, located abovethe solution tap.

To stop spraying

1. Turn the solution tap to CLEAN position. Thisreleases the solution pressure.

2. Once the spray dies down, turn the solution tapto OFF.

3. Push down the accelerator button. This shutsoff the accelerator.

4. Empty the solution tank and rinse with cleanwater.

Spraying tips

Spray behind you as you walk into the wind. Keepnozzle at least 2 meters away from objects.

5 Troubleshooting

Unit emits flames

1. Warm-up the machine.

2. From a safe distance (2 meters away), look intothe combustion chamber to check for flames.

3. Decrease the accelerator by turning the acceler-ator clockwise until the flames disappear.

4. If there are still flames at the 0 accelerator set-ting, follow the instructions in the Appendix toturn the accelerator below 0.

5. If there are still flames, they are likely caused bythe low ignition temperature of the chemical.

Unit does not start

1. Check that fuel tank has enough fuel.

2. Check the solution tank lid is firmly in place.

3. Check the edge of the fuel tank gasket for dam-age.

4. Check the screw neck of the solution tank andfuel tank.

8

Page 10: Longray Pulse-jet Thermal Fogger User ManualDo not use fogger near ammable surroundings. Never run the unit in the presence of an open ame. Do not leave a running fogger unattended.

5. Check the fuel suction line for clogs.

6. The accelerator setting may be too low. See Ap-pendix for how to safely increase the accelerator.

7. Check for drowning. See Appendix.

9

Unit runs unevenly or stops suddenly

1. Clean any deposited carbon from the front airintake.

2. Remove air intake valve. Using a dry, soft cloth, wipe the diaphragm until it is clean, flat, anddry. Also clean the spacer plates. See figure:

5. Check solution pipeline for deposited carbon andresidue:

Check nozzle opening. Check solution socket.

6. Check the air pump for damage.

Ignition button not working

1. Check the batteries.

2. Check the connecting circuit line for damage.

Solution tap not working

The nozzle and solution line may be clogged. Clear itby blowing compressed air.

Adjusting the accelerator

The notch at the top of the dial points to the cur-rent setting, here ”0”, which is the factory preset.

• Use settings of 0, 1, or 2 only.

• While adjusting, stay at least 2 meters awayfrom the front of the unit.

If the accelerator is too low, the engine may notstart. The accelerator is too high if:

• You can hear the engine pop noise as you pumpthe machine.

• The fogging tube emits a flame.

14

Page 16: Longray Pulse-jet Thermal Fogger User ManualDo not use fogger near ammable surroundings. Never run the unit in the presence of an open ame. Do not leave a running fogger unattended.

If the zero setting is still too strong, follow theseinstructions to decrease it further:

1. Firmly hold the adjustment knob in place at the0 location.

2. Using a flathead screwdriver, turn the centralscrew clockwise 45 degrees.

3. If you can still hear the engine noise as you pump, turn the central screw clockwise another 45 de-grees.

4. Start up the machine.

Drowning

Always operate the air pump slowly. Too fast and fuelmay flood the carburetor, making it difficult to start

15

Page 17: Longray Pulse-jet Thermal Fogger User ManualDo not use fogger near ammable surroundings. Never run the unit in the presence of an open ame. Do not leave a running fogger unattended.

the unit.If this happens, push down to close the accelerator.

With the ignition button held down, keep pushing andpulling the air pump until the carburetor dries.

Once you hear engine noise, pull the acceleratorbutton to open it, and continue with slow, gentle pumpsuntil the unit starts.

Automatic Cutoff Device

This optional feature automatically cuts off solu-tion flow when the engine flames out or turns off.

If the steel rope becomes loose, loosen the lock-upnut until you can pull the rope taut, and refasten nut.

If the auto-cutoff device does not work freely, applylubrication.
