Syngenta is one of the world’s leading companies, with more than 28,000 employees in over 90 countries dedicated to our purpose: Bringing plant potential to life. Through world-class science, global reach and commitment to our customers we help to increase crop productivity, protect the environment and improve health and quality of life.

CropZilla revolutionizes how farms are planned and managed. With CropZilla, a digital model of the farm is created for planning and optimising field operations based on timeliness, efficiency and cost. CropZilla measures the financial impact of every operational decision made on a farm. A farmer can model the ROI on trading equipment, leasing additional fields, planting a new hybrid or hiring more workers. Using CropZilla, the financial impact of the change is simulated BEFORE the decision is made and money spent.

Conservis is changing the business of farming. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Conservis responded to farmers needing a real-time view of activities, inventories and deliveries. Conservis connects this information with other systems so farmers have the data to make stronger decisions from planning to production to marketing.

At Dasinong, the dream is to bring the global frontier technology of “Precision Agriculture” to Chinese growers. Dasinong is developing a software that has solutions based on high-resolution weather and agronomic models and is easy for Chinese users. It is also an open platform for technology providers to plug in, so that Dasinong can help bring them to the 700 million growers in China.

Galileo Group provides state-of-the-art airborne remote sensing services and offers turnkey global capability for agri-scientific applications, such as precision phenotyping, stress detection and field-wide crop mapping and monitoring. Galileo manages all aircraft and drone operations, collects and pre-processes the data and conducts scientific grade analysis. In the case of new observables, Galileo focuses on the generation of investigative informatics to specifically customize input and output for comprehensive hyperspectral and LIDAR data exploitation using advanced computational algorithms.

VitalFields is the fastest growing Farm Management System in Europe with over 200,000 hectares under management.VitalFields offers online tools from planning and operational management to compliance reporting for farmers. Farmers provide VitalFields with valuable data on daily farming practices which is analysed and supplied back as advisory service. VitalFields is selling internationally due to its flexible localisation architecture and compatibility with government GIS and compliance systems.

Iteris is a leader in providing weather information solutions. Their innovative precision ag decision-support system, ClearAg™, leverages a data delivery platform to enable agribusinesses to ingest specific, actionable, high-resolution weather, crop and soil information for data-driven farming. Iteris’ ClearAg™ API platform takes field-specific weather, combines it with the science of soil and agronomy to deliver the right information, for the right field, at the right time for the right decisions.

Koppert Biological Systems ensure sustainability for the cultivation of food crops and ornamental plants. Together with growers and in partnership with nature, Koppert work to make agricultural and horticultural products healthy, safe, productive and resilient. They achieve this by using natural enemies to combat pest infestations; bumblebees for natural pollination; and natural products that support and strengthen the crops both above and underground. Restoring and protecting vital ecosystems in a natural way is the basis for healthy crops and a balanced environment.

Welcome to the third annual World Agri-Tech Investment Summit in London.

The goal of the World Agri-Tech Investment series is to accelerate the transition of technology from the laboratory to the field by connecting innovators with partners, buyers and investors.

The past three years have seen a rapid escalation of investment into advanced agricultural technologies, with many new players entering the market. Yet to date the majority of deals have been US-based, making this summit particularly important in highlighting innovation and investment opportunities in Europe and the rest of the world.

We are delighted to welcome speakers from China, India, Israel, the Middle East and the CIS, as well as Europe and North America, to share ideas on how to build a successful ecosystem for agri-tech development, and to forge new international collaborations.

Roundtable discussion groups, a networking drinks reception hosted by Syngenta, and the ability to arrange 1-1 meetings during the summit create extensive opportunities to connect with new partners and we encourage everyone to participate. The Rethink team will also be available throughout the summit to facilitate introductions.

I would particularly like to thank our sponsors and exhibitors for their support for this summit, and also our 10 innovative technology showcase companies who we look forward to hearing from over the next two days. I hope everyone will take the opportunity to meet all these exciting companies in our exhibition and networking room.

As we look ahead to next year, and to our sister summit in San Francisco, please take the time to share with us your thoughts, feedback and suggestions. Your input is essential to ensure we continue to build engaging and informative events that are of real value to your business.

I hope you have a great summit.
