Tower of London is a historic castle. It is almost 1000 years old. It was a fortress, a prison and a palace.
![Page 14: London guided tour ppt](https://reader033.fdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022042607/55843a78d8b42a56178b4bc6/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Hello! People call me Beefeater. I take care of the Tower ravens because as the legend
says “if the ravens fly away from Tower , the Crown will fall and Britain with it.”
![Page 15: London guided tour ppt](https://reader033.fdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022042607/55843a78d8b42a56178b4bc6/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
The battery is low! Hurry up! I want to show you the Tower Bridge.
![Page 16: London guided tour ppt](https://reader033.fdocuments.net/reader033/viewer/2022042607/55843a78d8b42a56178b4bc6/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
The bridge was officially opened on 30 June 1894. The bridge consists of two towers tied together at the upper level by means of two
horizontal walkways. It is a bascule bridge so the ships can sail under it when it opens.
