to Machu Picchu

Basic 4 Days/3 Nights

LOKI JUNGLE

Day 1Humantay Lake

Breakfast

Meet at 7am in loki Cusco’s bar for breakfast. Any one item on the breakfast menu is included in your package! Bring a small bag with change of clothes and what you need for the next day, the rest of your luggage will be taken by another van to be waiting for you on arrival at loki jungle in Santa Teresa. - IMPORTANT - Bring warm clothes

Drive to Mollepata and Lunch

The drive will take around 4 hours. Lunch in Mollepata before continuing.

Drive to Soraypampa & Arrival at Lodge

The drive will take around an hour. Get your room for the night and prepare for the afternoon hike.

Humantay Lake

Approximately 4 hours round trip to the lake, a nice warm up to tomorrow’s big day, Humantay lake is a beautiful blue lagoon situated in Andes mountains.

Dinner

Dinner included at the lodge in Soraypampa. After this, rest up for the big day of hiking tomorrow.

Day 2Salkantay Pass

Breakfast

Meet at 6am for breakfast in the lodge

Salkantay Pass Hike

The hike through the Salkantay Pass will take 8 - 10 hours in total. Our start point at Soraypampa is approx 3880 metres altitude and our highest point is at 4880 metres. After passing through this high point you begin a decent down to approx 2900 metres where you will see the landscape change from mountain to cloud forest. Packed lunch is included during the hike. A horse can be hired for extra cost for your bag

Pickup from Chaullay

Pickup from Chaullay to loki jungle in Santa Teresa.

Arrival at loki jungle

Get settled in your rooms (where you will stay for the duration of your package) and join us for a buffet dinner. Drinks in the bar, games and activities until late. Relax, you’re in loki!

Day 3Machu Picchu

Breakfast Meet at 7am for a buffet breakfast and take your included snack pack for the day

Drive to Hidroelectrica The drive will take around 40 minutes

Walk to Machu Picchu A 3 hour walk along the train tracks and up to Machu Picchu. The walk up from the base to the entrance of Machu Picchu can be replaced by a bus for extra cost

Guided tour of Machu Picchu 2 - 3 hour guided tour. Learn about the Incas and this historical site, with ample photo opportunities

Lunch Walk down from Machu Picchu and stop for lunch

Return to loki jungle Walk back to Hidroelectrica. A van will be waiting to take you back to loki jungle for buffet dinner. Celebrate your achievement in the loki bar until late!

Day 4Activities and return to Cusco

Breakfast Meet at the bar for a breakfast (time will depend on your activity)

Optional activities Fill your morning with any one half day activity (extra cost) on offer including rafting, biking, zipline, and hiking; relax in the bar, or visit the

Lunch Lunch is included in your package price, let us know in advance if you have any food restriction or allergy.

Return to Cusco The van leaves in the early afternoon after lunch (included). Approximately 6-hour drive back to Cusco

RememberYou can also extend your stay for more activities, just talk to us about it to get all the information on the extra costs. The return transport to Cusco can be taken another day at no extra cost

With this package you have time for 1 half day activity at extra cost. Shorter activities like river beach and hot springs can be done at any time during your stay. Alternatively, just relax in the

hostel.

Activities at loki jungle

Jungle Biking - Half Day - $25

Downhill off-road mountain biking through a region of Peruvian high jungle. Stop to sample locally grown fruits. Ride takes you back to loki jungle

Rafting - Half Day - $27

Rafting on Urubamba river in Santa Maria, and 5 metre cliff jump. Return transport from loki jungle

Zipline - Half Day - $25

5 ziplines, crossing the valley over the Urubamba river twice, and ending with a canopy walk finishing back at loki jungle

Activities

ActivitiesLlactapata Hike - Half Day - $20

A half day hike ascending from high jungle at 1800 metres to a viewpoint for Machu Picchu and Salkantay mountain at 2800 metres. Stop for a cup of locally grown coffee and a ride on the off the edge mountain swing

Cocalmayo Springs - S./10 entry

10 minutes walk from loki jungle are the Cocalmayo hot springs. A great place to unwind from your adventure, they are open from 5am to 1:30am every day

Loki River Beach - FREE

5 minute walk from loki jungle is the perfect spot for a refreshing swim. The river is cold and the sun is hot. Best to go early afternoon
