Tokyo Olympic Logo Changed

English News Monthly’s 1st news report for March comes from Tokyo - the host city of the 32nd 1: ________ Olympic and 16th Paralympic Games in 2020. This month four logos for the games were published and the Japanese 2: _________ will be able to choose which logo they like best. The final choice will be chosen at the end of April 2016.

The Tokyo Olympic Games first chose a logo in July 2015, but the design had to be changed because it was too similar to the logo of another 3: _________. Desert Island Rescue!

Treasure Island. King of the Flies.The Beach. The People in the Trees. These are some of the most famous stories, novels and films about people marooned on a desert island. Yet all these stories didn't really happen. But for three soldiers in the Pacific Ocean this month they really did end up alone on an isolated desert island.

After their 19ft boat exploded the three men swam for nearly 3.25 km to the nearest land, a huge island called Fanadik. The remote island is three hundred kilometres north of Papua New Guinea. Once there the three sailors built a fire and used palm tree leaves to spell out the word HELP on the hotel. Then they waited, hoping to be rescued.

After three days on the island the men were rescued by the US Coast Guard who had seen the fire burning on the beach. The three men were very lucky to be found as they were found 287 metres off from their course. At least they will have a nice suntan…

One of Our Octopuses is Missing!

Evelyn and Jim the Gorillas. Nala the Lioness. Nikica the Hippo. 1: _____ 337. Do these names mean anything to you? Tokyo Olympic Logo Changed

This month four logos for the games were published and the Japanese public will be able to choose which logo they like best. The final choice will be chosen at the end of April 2016.
