CARREFOUR FRANCE 60 millons of investment 131.000 m2 1.368 inteligent lumen sensors Total anual savings in lighting of 88%, 2.655 Kwh / year CO2 emission reduction of 1,6 Tn per year

SITUATION This is the bigger logistic platform in France that Carrefour will run this autumn in Artenay-Poupry, 30 km north of Orleans. The construction amounts to no less than 135,000 m2, on a plot of 34 hectares. The building has 21 cells of 6000 m2, some of which are subdivided to store dangerous products. The new platform is dedicated to the storage and preparation of non-food orders (drugstore, hygiene, crafts, gardening, toys, furniture, stationery, etc.). This gigantic project is part of Carrefour's plan to review the logistics of all stores in France. If this platform is the most important, Poupry site is only one of the 20 platforms with the construction was announced, several of which have already been completed, as in Nîmes or Cholet. As for the personnel mobilized, about 310 people, according to preliminary studies, including 240 in logistics. "This building is of XXXL size, but not to tell that it is very large, but because we need it," said Remi Goleger, director of Carrefour property, on the occasion of a visit to this logistics platform open to the press. Rémi Goleger adds: "What makes it little special is that it is the first place where the Carrefour group prints its visual identity. In terms of design and exterior style, our aim is to make buildings qualitative and recognizable.

The logistics platform is certified by BREEAM sustainable building, and has the IoT lighting platform from the company LUMEN INTELLIGENT. This system, thanks to its sensors integrated in each point of light, the connectivity between them, the gathering of information and its control of software crossings, allows to adapt the lighting to the real needs, obtaining savings in the energy consumption of the 88% with conventional lighting technologies.

The installation of the lighting has 1.340 points of light with LED technology that integrate motion sensor, light sensor, temperature sensor, meter of consumption, wireless network communication and a CPU that allows to store all the information captured by the sensors. Likewise, the control and programming of each light spot is done from the software of Intelligent Lumen and of course from any device, allowing programming according to use, workload and type, date, work shifts, etc. The luminous powers of each point of light range from 18,000 lumens in the storage areas to 35,000 l in the loading and unloading areas. With this project Carrefour is committed to the Intelligent Lumen technology and its lighting and Internet Of Things, IoT Platform, that will allow in the future the implementation of the IoT applications as the tracking of people, products or machinery as well as its positioning within its facilities.
