LOGA IS LOUISIANA’S OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY
Transcript of LOGA IS LOUISIANA’S OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY
We are your employee, working to ensure your business thrives.
We are your friend, working to support your needs. We are
your voice, speaking out for your industry.
Organized in 1992 to represent the exploration, production
and service sectors of the oil and gas industry in Louisiana,
LOGA has taken great strides to provide an environment
that enhances every facet of the business. We constantly give
our all to create industry incentives, ward off tax increases,
change burdensome regulations and educate the public and
government of the importance of the oil and gas industry in
the state of Louisiana. And we have the contacts and access to
consistently make a positive diff erence.
With over 1,000 independent producers and service companies
as members, we support every branch of Louisiana’s oil and gas
industry, while helping every member actively promote their
own business interests.
LOGA IS YOUR ADVOCATE IN THE STATE OF LOUISIANA.
Preventing Contingency Fee Contracts for the Attorney General’s Office - Meredith vs. Attorney General Richard Ieyoub: LOGA adamantly opposes contingency contracts and has been successful in keeping them out of the Attorney General’s offi ce since the landmark litigation against Ieyoub.
LOGA IS LOUISIANA’S OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY
As we strive to create opportunities and advancements in
oil and gas, it is with your support and your interests in
mind that we advocate for our industry.
If you do business in Louisiana and its Gulf Coast, then
the work that LOGA does for the oil and gas industry
directly impacts you. In the ever-changing energy
landscape, LOGA confronts and deals directly with the
many issues that can cause harm, providing infl uence
that is reliable, consistent and powerful.
Government, now more than ever before, has the ability
to impact every part of your business. Companies can no
longer take a passive role in the bureaucracy and political
systems that regulate them. It is because of this that
LOGA acts as your advocate. We fi ght to ensure that the
administration will not push oil and gas production
overseas or stifl e independent oil company eff orts
through taxes and penalties.
A UNITED INDUSTRY IN WHICH WE ALL CAN THRIVE
We have built relationships with state leaders and their staff s so that when expertise about our industry is
needed, they look to us for advice – providing insight, direction, clarity and critical infl uence on decisions. We
act as a watchdog with regard to many regulatory agencies that govern our industry, including the Louisiana
Department of Natural Resources, Offi ce of Conservation, Offi ce of Mineral Resources, Department of
Environmental Quality, Public Service Commission, Louisiana Tax Commission, and other regulatory
bodies who can impact your business. And, with members from every segment of the energy industry, when
we speak as one, our voice is heard.
Under the direction of LOGA President Don G. Briggs as well as the Board of Directors and its Chairman,
LOGA has enjoyed achievements that are numerous and have far-reaching results. And these results are
benefi cial not only to the oil and gas industry, but to our great state as a whole.
