Why  LOTAAS?  

•  LOTAAS  will  be  the  deepest  low-­‐frequency  pulsar  survey  ever  done  

•  LOTAAS  is  expected  to  discover  ~200  radio  pulsars  

•  Characterise  the  local  pulsar  populaGon  

•  Variable  sources  and  transients    

•  LOFAR/LOTAAS  is  a  pathfinder  for  SKA  pulsar  surveys
