Whether you are looking for an introduction to summer camp for your camper, or a child care option with a twist, Camp Collins Day Camp is a great option for intentional programs in a gorgeous setting. Daily activities include rock climbing, archery, arts & crafts, capture the flag and much more. Day camp runs Monday through Friday and includes a value-based chapel with resident campers each day, an hour of swimming in the pool each day, and a special day camp campfire experience on Friday. Lunch is provided daily, along with a morning and afternoon snack. For your convenience, we offer multiple transportation options: Pick up and drop off at Camp Collins. Bus to and from: NE Portland (TBD), Sunnyside Elementary School (Clackamas), Gresham United Methodist Church (note: horseback riding offered during week 9 only) Family Camps – For All! Staff ExcellenceAt Camp Collins we intentionally create an environment designed to engage the entireperson, mind, body and spirit, with the goal of leading them to become their best. Thisclimate is brought to life through hiring positive role models. Staff are selected for theirstrong work ethic, leadership, communication skills and ability to put others needs beforetheir own. All staff complete an extensive application and interview process includingreference and background checks. All staff are First Aid and CPR certified and participatein an all camp and job specific onsite training. Our directors work alongside staff toprovide continuous feedback and coaching through formal and informal evaluations.

A great introduction to the overnight campexperience. Living in single gender cabins in amixed gender village, “Pio” campers get a taste ofwhat camp has to offer, including swimming, rockclimbing, horseback riding, archery and much more.Campers also enjoy an overnight camp-out underthe stars. Pioneer Mini Camp available 3a & 3b.(note: overnight camp-out not included in 3b)

“Expo” campers experience allthe camp activities of the Pioneercamp and more, such as a horsetrail ride and an inner tube floatdown the Sandy River. While livingin one of a kind Hobbit Village,campers build positive friendshipsand practice teamwork.

Teen Camp

Teen Camp is for oldercampers who want anextended experiencefull of opportunitiesfor personal growthand fun. The sessionemphasizes self-discovery, teamwork,personal responsibilityand positivecommunication.During the secondweek of the session,teens will have theopportunity to usetheir newly learnedskills and enhancetheir friendships byparticipating in a two-day rafting adventureon the DeschutesRiver.

Teen XL(eXtreme Leadership)

Entering Grades 10-12

(two-week sessions)

The Teen XL program is agroup-based experientiallearning program for camperswho are seeking adventureand an introduction toleadership. By workingtogether on the challengecourse, planning andimplementing a service project,and leading activities in thecamp community, these teenswill strengthen their leadershipand communication styleswhile enjoying the excitementof summer camp. This programincludes a three-day, counselorled backpacking trip throughstunning NW terrain. Camperswill receive an introduction toorienteering, outdoor livingand Leave No Trace ethics.

Teen ExpeditionCampPack or Paddle

Entering Grades 10-12

(one-week sessions)

Looking for a greatadventure in theoutdoors? Look no further!Start off your week atCamp Collins on thechallenge courseexperiencing high elementsand team building withyour group. Stay in ateepee while at camp, thenhead out to enjoy eitherthree days of paddling akayak in the Puget Soundor backpacking for fourdays. Campers will receivean introduction toorienteering, outdoorliving and Leave No Traceethics.

Counselors In Training(C.I.T.’s)

Entering Grades 11-12

(two or three-week sessions)

The CIT program is for mature campers whoare ready to begin the journey towardsbecoming an excellent camp counselor. Thisprogram is designed to help older teens developand practice vital characteristics of leadershipand mentoring. CIT's will utilize the challengecourse to hone in on key facets of leadingyouth such as clear communication, buildingtrust, positive feedback and asking for help.The Camp Collins CIT program emphasizesunderstanding children, respecting diversity,leadership skills and the YMCA core values.

The three-week program includes a tour oflocal camps and a nationally recognizedCPR/First Aid certification. A CIT applicationand interview are required and provide goodpractice for potential CITs. *Completion of anapplication and participation in the interviewdoes not guarantee placement in the CITprogram.

Questor Specialties

A specialty is a program area of focus inwhich Questors spend 2.5 hours a day (5hours on Friday) building skills andknowledge through a progressive, in-depthcurriculum. We do our best to give eachQuestor their 1st or 2nd choice specialty.Specialty choices: Aquatics, ChallengeCourse, Horses, Rock Climbing, WildernessLiving Skills, Mountain Biking, Drama. Questors are the oldest of the week-longresident campers, and focus on skills suchas role modeling, making positive choicesand taking personal responsibility. Livingin extraordinary Treetops Village, campersengage in a team building day with theircabin mates on the challenge course,develop skills through their Specialty, andenjoy traditional camp activities.
