is Japanese, and horsehair which is found in the desert southwest. Underglaze colors are sprayed on the pot before it is bisque fired. A clear glaze is used on the pot so the underglaze colors come through. After the pot comes out of the glaze kiln either horsehair is added creating a carbon trail design or the piece is submerged in sawdust creating a crackle effect. He will be exhibiting in Patrick Plautz’ s barn on Gorman Ave in Willard.

Realistic designs of historic buildings are rendered using weathered wood siding from abandoned barns and sheds. Veneers are cut and applied within frames creating finely detailed images with depth perception. Recollections of the past are elicited, preserving our connection with a disappearing architecture.

SPRING CREEK CLAY, ETC – BRUCE KAUPANGER OF RICE LAKE, WI – GUEST ARTIST AT PATRICK J’S (#33) N9647 Gorman Ave, Willard, WI 54493715–234–[email protected] is a potter who has combined the techniques of Raku Pottery, which

is Japanese, and horsehair which is found in the desert southwest. Underglaze colors are sprayed on the pot before it is bisque fired. A clear glaze is used on the pot so the underglaze colors come through. After the pot comes out of the glaze kiln either horsehair is added creating a carbon trail design or the piece is submerged in sawdust creating a crackle effect. He will be exhibiting in Patrick Plautz’ s barn on Gorman Ave in Willard.
