The LAG Othe Armance

The LAG Othe Armance is an association who works to the implementation of the European program LEADER in the area of Pays d’Othe and Pays d’Armance. It co- finances project with a touristic perspective thanks to 1.6 million Euros.

The LAG Othe ArmanceThe LAG has a local development strategy based on sustainable tourism whose the four axes are:

Preserve and enhance the cultural and natural heritage

Develop and improve a sustainable tourism

Innovate in the tourism organization

What is a « Pays »?« Federation of towns, sharing a common scheme for futur and sustainbale developement of their territory »

A development project = CHARTE The aims are generally to :– Develop attractivity of territory– Reinforce solidarity between urban and rural régions– Promote sustainable development

A project for future of a region, which concern different the dimensions of local development : economical, social, cultural and environmental life régions

Between the Champagne and the Bourgogne, situated on the East part of the France, the Othe Armance area is near Auxerre, Troyes and Sens.

Transnational project with Montréal

« Idea to project » with Montréal about the 400th birthday of Paul de Maisonneuve, founder of Montréal.

2012 is the Year of the celebration of the birth of Maisonneuve. It’s recognized «  High cultural event for 2012 » by the French Minister of Culture.

Main objective : Exchange and realization of common actions

Context:

The LAG Othe Armance has the ambition of enhancing sustainable tourism attractiveness thanks to the natural and cultural heritage of the “Othe armance” area. The LAG has a strategy based on sustainable rural tourism. The LAG Othe Armance has to assure the animation and the coordination of the tourism offices. An agreement between the LAG and the tourism offices has been signed with the aim to set up a common communication (web site www.tourisme-othe-armance.com, tourist guide, etc.) and to coordinate the tourism development.

In this context, the LAG Othe Armance wants to work about the tourism organization with the objective the constitution of a tourism center: the “Pôle touristique Othe Armance en Champagne”.  

Cooperation offer

Main objective : Exchange and realization of common actions

 Types of actions envisaged:

- Exchange of good practices, transfer of expertise about tourism valorization and organization

- Work trip, study visit- Definition of a common methodology - Organization of workshops: What kind of tourism organization for the territory in the future? Forecast about the evolution of tourism demand, study about the office / the tourist center / tourism pole, etc.

Execution of common actions :

- Tools for marketing

- Interbet Tools (application for smartphone, Iphone...)

- System of reservation / commercialisation of touristics offer

- Developement of Brand, label...
