A. Hoist

1. System shall utili6e the oadreflectin matte 5lac: po3dered epo&y 3here the paint

thic:ness is *0 to 100 microns. Before the paint is applied the surface must 5e dereased.

,. The hoist shall 5e equipped 3ith electro>6inc plated load chain specially desined for chain hoist use.

The 3eld on the chain shall face to3ards the load sproc:et of the hoist.

10. The hoist shall 5e equipped 3ith a load sproc:et (or load 3heel' 3ith a minimum of fi4e precision>

machined chain poc:ets pro4idin e&ceptionally smooth liftin and reduced chain 3ear.

11. The hoist shall 5e equipped 3ith a chain container resistant to oil and dirt and that completely encloses

the chain e&it area of the hoist.

1". The hoist shall 5e equipped 3ith upper @ lo3er limit s3itches for o4er>tra4el protection. The limit

s3itches are to 5e load 5loc: or chain>stop acti4ated 3hen the hoo: reaches the top or 5ottom limit of

tra4el. A slip clutch that also ser4es as a safety de4ice for o4er>tra4el protection if the limit fails due tophase re4ersal shall 5e included.

?ote The upper and lo3er limit s3itches are not to 5e used as automatic stops durin normal

operation of the hoists.

1+. The hoist shall 5e equipped 3ith a chain stop assem5ly attached to the load chain to reduce the

possi5ility of the dead end of the load chain from runnin out of the hoist.

1. The standard load hoo: shall 5e fored alloy steel (+Crtra4el protection.

1*. A lo3er chain uide and one>piece internal chain uide are to 5e pro4ided to help uide and hold the

load chain in the poc:ets of the load 3heel for safe operation and to pre4ent Lammin. Both should 5e

easily remo4a5le for inspection.

A. All hoist equipment shall 5e operated throuh a complete lift and lo3erin cycle to determine that the equipment

shall perform smoothly and safely. Any defects shall 5e corrected 5y the hoist pro4ider 3ithout any e&pense to the73ner.

+.0+ se 5y contractor

A. ;f the hoist is used 5y the Contractor it shall 5e repaired repainted and other3ise refur5ished to li:e ne3

condition prior to its acceptance. The Contractor assumes all responsi5ility for operation and maintenance until thesystem has 5een accepted 5y 73ner.
