THE MEMOIR L. M. COLLEGE OF PHARMACY NEWSLETTER September 2018 It gives us immense pleasure to present to you the third volume of our college newsletter. We express our gratitude to our readers for their valuable suggestions and appreciation for the newsletter. The newsletter has emerged as a valuable source to share information about our college with our stakeholders, alumni, staff and students about the development and achievements of our college as well as our alumni. I am happy to share some of our noteworthy achievements during this year. Shri Ramanbhai Patel Post Graduate Center which is been built in loving memories of legendary Pharmacist of our country and distinguished alumnus of our institute Shri Ramanbhai Patel, by his son and distinguished alumnus Shri Pankajbhai Patel. This center was inaugurated on 18 th October 2018. Zydus Hospira Oncology Pvt. Ltd, has committed to donate modern instruments for various labs worth rupees one crore under CSR activity of the company. Our gratitude for Shri Pankajbhai Patel his kind gestures for his ammeter. Atal Incubation Centre and center of Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) is doing well. Good number of projects are registered in this centers. We have planned to go for NAAC accreditation by June 2019. We look forward for many more achievements in the coming years. It gives us immense pleasure to present to you

the third volume of our college newsletter. We

express our gratitude to our readers for their

valuable suggestions and appreciation for the

newsletter. The newsletter has emerged as a

valuable source to share information about

our college with our stakeholders, alumni,

staff and students about the development

and achievements of our college as well as our alumni.

I am happy to share some of our noteworthy achievements during

this year. Shri Ramanbhai Patel Post Graduate Center which is been

built in loving memories of legendary Pharmacist of our country

and distinguished alumnus of our institute Shri Ramanbhai Patel,

by his son and distinguished alumnus Shri Pankajbhai Patel. This

center was inaugurated on 18th October 2018. Zydus Hospira

Oncology Pvt. Ltd, has committed to donate modern instruments

for various labs worth rupees one crore under CSR activity of the

company. Our gratitude for Shri Pankajbhai Patel his kind gestures

for his ammeter. Atal Incubation Centre and center of Student

Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) is doing well. Good number

of projects are registered in this centers. We have planned to go

for NAAC accreditation by June 2019.

We look forward for many more achievements in the coming years.

Inauguration of Ramanbhai Patel Post Graduate Center

Ramanbhai Patel Post Graduate Center is

established at L. M. College of Pharmacy

(LMCP), Ahmedabad in memory of late

Shri Ramanbhai Patel, an eminent

industrialist of India, by his son Shri

Pankajbhai Patel, CMD, Zydus-Cadila. Shri

Ramanbhai Patel and Shri Pankajbhai

Patel are both distinguished alumnus

of LMCP. The Post Graduate center was

inaugurated on Oct 18, 2018 by the

august presence of Shri Pankajbhai Patel,

CMD, Zydus-Cadila; Shri Sanjaybhai

Lalbhai, President, Ahmedabad Education

Society (AES); Shri Sudhirbhai Mehta,

CMD, Torrent Group. Dignitaries from

pharmaceutical industries and faculties

from reputed institutions of the state were

also present at the ceremony. This center

shall off er the Pharm. D. Course to the

scholars, which has been duly approved

by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New

Delhi and All India Council of Technical

Education (AICTE), New Delhi. It will also

occupy the Atal Incubation Center (AIC),

the fi rst pharma and health care center

supported by NITI Aayog, New Delhi.

Upgradation of LMCP laboratory

Zydus-Hospira Oncology Pvt. Ltd,

Ahmedabad has agreed to donate

instruments worth fi fty lacs to LMCP

towards purchase of certain laboratory

equipment. The Donor is a leading

pharmaceutical company in India

and as part of its Corporate Social

Responsibility (CSR), promotes education

in India through various initiatives. Under

this initiative the donor will provide

sophisticated instruments like Gas

Chromatograph, Biosafety Cabinet Level

II, Refrigerated centrifuge, dissolution

apparatus ½ immersion cell, UV/Visible

Spectrophotometer etc. to LMCP. The

company has also announced donation

worth Rs. 50, 00,000 for the purchase

of instrument. LMCP is thankful to Shri

Pankajbhai Patel for his generous

support and constant motivation for the

well-being of our college.

Progress of Atal Incubation Centre

AIC-LMCP Foundation (ALF) – the Atal

Incubation Centre – set up at L. M. College

of Pharmacy and supported by Atal

LEADING STORIES

Innovation Mission, Niti Aayog, received

the Sanction Letter from Govt. of India

for setting up World class incubation

centre, in February 2018. Shri Pankajbhai

Patel, CMD, Cadila Healthcare Ltd. (Zydus

group) was the inspiration behind the

establishment of this center. With its focus

on Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare Sector

and under the guidance of its Governing

Board and Executive Committee, ALF

is poised to support innovative start-

ups, including those with woman

entrepreneurs and MSME, to translate

innovative ideas into viable businesses and

fostering entrepreneurship ecosystem. It

has received the fi rst tranche of the grant

for setting up the infrastructure including

the state-of-art laboratory facilities. Dr.

Shrinivas Savale has been appointed as

the CEO of AIC-LMCP Foundation.

Currently the center is hosting

two incubates – 1) BellaPure Onco

Phytoceuticals LLP – a start-up working

in the area of development of onco-

phytoceuticals. 2) Mtag Innovations LLP

- a start-up working in the area of drug

integrity management platform.

On 7th May 2018, ALF hosted an outreach

event for ‘Atal New India Challenge’, an

initiative by Atal Innovation Mission, NITI

Aayog, Govt. of India, for ‘Supporting

Innovators to create Products/Solutions

based on the advanced technologies in

the areas of national importance and

social relevance’. Eminent personalities

who participated in the panel discussion

during the event, included Mr. Ashwin

Joshi (CIIE, IIMA), Ms. Rama Moondra

(GLS), Prof. M. T. Chhabria (AIC-LMCP

Foundation), Shri R. Ramanan (MD, Atal

Innovation Mission), Prof. N. R. Sheth, (VC,

Gujarat Technological University), Shri

K. K. Nirala (Director, DTE, Gujarat), Dr.

Unnat Pandit (Atal Innovation Mission),

Prof. J. S. Yadav (Indrasheel University),

Chiranjiv Patel (GCCI). It was attended

by about 130 participants from various

MSMEs, Startups, R&D Organizations as

well as Academicians, Researchers, Head

of Institutions and Student Innovators.

Progress of Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP)

Under the coordination of Dr. Mahesh

Chhabria and Dr. Praful Bharadia, till date,

LMCP-SSIP has outreached and sensitized

1305 students from various colleges

of Gujarat and organized 8 workshops

and 7 awareness seminars at diff erent

venues. It is supporting 20 innovative

student projects, 5 student start-ups are

to be supported through interventions

like incubation space facilities, POC,

prototyping and seed funding. 3 patents

are under consideration on ‘Pharmaceutical

Roshni Vora, Yamini Shah), ‘Solid Lipid

Nanoparticle of Cefpodoxime Proxetil’ and

‘Solid Lipid Nanoparticle of Ritonavir’ (by

Dolly Gupta, Yamini Shah and Dushyant

Shah).

• A GUJCOST sponsored one day

National Level Seminar on ‘Treading

towards Progress of Pharma Industry’

was organized on 23rd September,

2017. The Chief Guest of the function

Dr. Mukesh Gohel, Guest of Honor,

Shri Natubhai Panchal and Principal

Dr. Mahesh Chhabria along with Dr.

R. K. Parikh chaired the Dias at the

inaugural function. 100 delegates

including academicians, P.G. and Ph.

D. students participated in the event.

Eminent speakers from industry as well

as academics were invited to grace the

seminar.

• A LMCP Alumni Association and

Research Society sponsored seminar on

‘Recent Advances in Entrepreneurship

and Innovations in Pharmaceutical

Sciences’ was organized by LMCP-SSIP

on 6th January, 2018. The speakers

included Dr. Ferzaan Engineer (Co-

founder & Chairman, Cytecare

Hospitals, Bengaluru), Shri Kaushik

Shah (Joint Managing Director, Sushen

Medicamentos, Ahmedabad), Shri Jatin

Gajjar (Executive Vice President and

Head, R&D, Amneal Pharmaceuticals,

Ahmedabad) and Shri Padmin Buch

(Senior Project & Management Advisor

National level IPR Domain Expert &

Senior Visiting Faculty, Entrepreneurship

Development Institute of India).

• A GUJCOST sponsored National Seminar

on ‘Excipient Variability and Its Impact

on Dosage Form Functionality’ was

organized on 17th March, 2018, under

the coordination of Dr. Yamini Shah.

The seminar was aimed at emphasizing

the use of proper excipients to solve

the problems in manufacturing of

modern dosage forms. 92 delegates

from academia and industries

participated in the seminar. Chief

Guest, Dr. Mukesh Gohel (PG Director,

Anand Pharmacy College) and Dr. M.

T. Chhabria (Convener) placed special

emphasis on use of proper excipients

to solve problems in manufacturing

of modern dosage forms in industries.

Distinguished experts in the fi eld, Dr.

Dushyant Shah (Ex-Principal, APMC

College of Pharmaceutical Research

and Education, Himmatnagar), Dr.

Mihir Raval (Dean & HOD, Department

of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Saurashtra

University) and Dr. Bipin Patel

(Assistant General Manager F&D, Intas

Pharmaceuticals, Ahmedabad) spoke on

a variety of resourceful topics such as

co-processed excipients, biodegradable

polymers, co-crystal formation

techniques for drugs and selection.

• A GSPC Sponsored two days ‘Refresher

Course for Registered Pharmacist’

was organized on 24th & 25th March,

2018. The objective of this course was

to update the skill sets in registered

pharmacists of Gujarat and to motivate

them to strive for excellence. 200

registered pharmacists of Gujarat

attended the course to update their

skill sets. Distinguished guests of the

event were Dr. B. Suresh (President,

Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi),

Mr. V. R. Shah (Deputy Commissioner,

FDCA, Gandhinagar, Mr. G. C. Macwan

(Registrar, GSPC) and Dr. C. N. Patel

(Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, GTU;

Member, PCI, AICTE and GSPC, and

Principal, Shri Sarvajanik Pharmacy

College, Mehsana).

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES

College of Pharmacy), were quite

impressed on visiting the Ramanbhai

Patel Postgraduate Center, the new

building constructed for Pharm. D. and

Postgraduate courses.

• The college has received an approval

from AICTE to run four courses under

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana

(PMKVY) Scheme for the year 2018-19.

The proposed courses include Medical

Sales Representative, Drug Regulatory

Aff air Chemist, Regulatory Medical

Writer, and Research Associate-Product

Development/Synthesis/Medicinal

Chemistry.

Approval of New Courses

• LMCP successfully underwent an

inspection from Pharmacy Council of

India (PCI) on 9th and 10th August,

2018 and received an approval for

the conduction of Pharm. D. course.

• ‘LMCP Innovation Club’ conducted an

intra-college innovation challenge,

‘INNOVIEREN’, on 11th September, 2017,

to promote out-of-the-box thinking

amongst students.

• The college hosted the ‘State Round’

of Indian Pharmaceutical Association

Sponsored ‘National Elocution

Competition-2017’ on ‘Know about

your Medicines: Ask your Pharmacist’

on 11th October, 2017.

• LMCP hosted the fi rst oration by

Dr. Saranjit Singh (Head, Dept. of

Pharmaceutical Analysis, NIPER,

Mohali) on ‘Pursuit for Inspired Career

in Pharmaceutical Sciences’, organised

by IPA-Gujarat State Branch on 26th

February 2018, under the coordination

of Dr. Gaurang Shah (President,

IPA-Gujarat State). The lecture was

dedicated to the sacred memory

of late Shri M. R. Shastri (Veteran

Pharmacist & Ex Director, Drug Control

Administration, Gujarat and Founder

Food & Drug Laboratory, Vadodara)

and was followed by an inspiring ‘Panel

Discussion’  on  ‘Expanding scope

and challenges of Pharmacy

profession’.  Eight professionals from

diff erent disciplines namely Mr. Arvind

Kukreti (Deputy Drug Controller,

CDSCO, Ahmedabad), Dr. Bhaswat

Chakraborty (Hon. Executive Director

& Researcher, PhaseON Clinical Trials),

Dr. Viranchi Shah (Chairman, IDMA

Gujarat State Board), Dr. S. P. Adeshara

(Ex Commissioner-FDCA, Gujarat),

Mr. Nipul Kapadia (AGM- Pharmacy,

Apollo Hospitals), Dr. G. B. Shah, Dr.

M. T. Chhabria and Dr. J. B. Dave   from

academia presented emerging

challenges and opportunities in various

dimensions of pharmaceutical sciences

and practice.

• One day seminar on ‘Woman-

Undaunted’ was organized on 8th March,

2018 on the occasion of International

Women’s Day, under the convenership

of Dr. Mamta Shah and Dr. Mahesh

Chhabria. Dr. Malati Chauhan (Former

Dean, Ayurveda University, Jamnagar)

and Dr. Mona Kelshikar (Principal, H.

L. College of Commerce) graced the

occasion as Chief Guests. Eminent

speakers from diff erent domains, who

gave their views on contribution of

women to society, included Mrs. Devina

Bhardwaj (CEO, Intervein Laboratories

Pvt. Ltd.), Ms. Sonal Chauhan (Social

and cancer health activist), Dr Munira

Momin (Principal, B.N. College of

pharmacy, Mumbai), Mrs. Jimmy Nanda

(Mrs. India-2007), Mrs. Surbhi Vasa

(Culinary expert, ‘Rasoi Show’). More

than 160 delegates from Pharmacy and

allied fi elds participated in the seminar.

• The college hosted ‘Pharmachrome

2018’, as a part of GTU Central TechFest

from 14th to 16th March, 2018, under

the coordination of Dr. Sunita Goswami

and Dr. Beenkumar Prajapati. The

inauguration took place in the presence

of honorable Vice Chancellor of GTU, Dr.

Navin Sheth and the Academic Advisor

of AES, Dr. A. H. Kalro. 615 students

from Gujarat participated in the mega

event, which included ten sub-events:

Pharma Innoveren, Industrial Problem

Solving Ability (IPSA), Pharma Film, Case

Studies, Pharma Quiz, Pharma Debate,

Pharma Marketing, Poster Presentation,

Pharma ecipe and Pharma Sketch.

• A guest lecture on ‘Sterile Manufacturing

- An Overview of Facilities and

Technologies’ by Dr. Ashesh Belapure

(BellaPure Onco Phytoceuticals LLP,

Ahmedabad) was organized on 11th

April, 2018 for the Postgraduate

students and faculty members.

• A ‘Health Awareness Programme’ was

conducted at the college by LMCP-

NSS Unit on 24th July, 2018, in which

Dr. Harshil Mehta (MD, Department of

Emergency Medicine, Shalby Hospital,

Ahmedabad) gave a demonstration on

Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

and Dr. Kalrav Mistry (Psychiatrist, Shalby

Hospital, Ahmedabad) discussed the

problems of youth, types of addiction

and its management.

• An Interactive Session on ‘Perspectives

on Pharmaceutical Research’ was

conducted by Mr. Nagesh Nanda

(CEO, Novel Consultants, Vadodara

• An expert lecture on ‘Fostering

by SSIP Cell, LMCP for Postgraduate

students on 3rd August, 2018.

• A Webinar on ‘Basics of Column

Chromatography’ was conducted by Dr.

Ranjeet Kushwaha (Manager-Chemistry

Operations, Waters India Pvt. Ltd.,

Bengaluru) for the students of B. Pharm.

and M. Pharm. on 16th August, 2018.

• An ‘Orientation Program’ for new

batches of Pharm. D. and M. Pharm. was

conducted on 16th August, 2018.

• A talk on ‘Patentability of Pharmaceutical

Research’ by Mr. Sanjay Patel (Patent

Consultant, Infi nvent) was organized

by SSIP Cell, LMCP for Postgraduate

students on 1st May, 2018.

FACULTY RECOGNITIONS & AWARDS

• Dr. Mahesh Chhabria was nominated as a member of Establishment, Funds and Functioning of Central Instrumentation Facility

(CIF) Committee of Central University of Gujarat, in August 2018; as Central Government Nominee in the Board of Management of

Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad for three years from May 2018 and as Associate Dean of Gujarat Technological University for Zone-

1(Ahmedabad), in May 2018.

• Dr. Anita Mehta was invited as a ‘Chief Guest’ at the Inaugural Function at CSIR, ICMR and DST SEED division sponsored two days

National Conference on ‘End Tuberculosis (TB) Strategy: 2030’, organized by Anand Pharmacy College on 10th & 11th August, 2018,

as well as at National Conference on ‘Perspectives in multidisciplinary research: changing paradigm’, organized by A-One Pharmacy

college, Anasan, on 3rd March, 2018.

• Dr. Gaurang Shah was nominated by Gujarat Technological University

(GTU) as Research Committee Member for improving the Quality of Research

conducted by GTU, in August 2018. He was also invited as a ‘Chief Guest’ at

the Inaugural Function of ‘Apocalypse-2018’, a state level event organized

by K. B. Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research on 16th & 17th

August, 2018.

• Two of our faculty members, Dr. Anita Mehta (in both M. Pharm. and Ph.

D. in Pharmacology category) and Prof. (Dr.) Mamta Shah (in M. Pharm.

Pharmacognosy category) received PharmInnova Award as ‘Best Research

Guide - 2016-17’ during the PharmInnova Award Ceremony, organized

by Rajnibhai V. Patel Trust under the Patronage of Dept. of Science and

Technology, Govt. of India and sponsored by Troikaa Pharmaceuticals Ltd.,

in September 2018. The award was distributed by Mr. Narayan Murthy

(Founder, Infosys Ltd.) and Mrs. Mamta Verma (Industries Commissioner,

Govt. of Gujarat).

• Dr. Parloop Bhatt was empanelled NABH Assessor for carrying out assessment of health care organizations (HCO)/institutions

against NABH accreditation standard for ethics committee under Clinical Trial Accreditation Program in December 2017. She was

also invited as ‘Chairperson’ at oral presentations in UK Seth & OD Gulati Prize sessions in Indian Pharmacological Society-Golden

Alumni Meet

The 3rd LMCP Alumni Meet was held on 6th January 2018,

under the banner of ‘LMCP Alumni Association and Research

Society’. Distinguished alumni– Dr. C. J. Shishoo (Ex-Principal,

LMCP), Mr. A. V. Patel (Founder, Centurian Laboratories),

Dr. N. R. Sheth (Vice Chancellor, GTU) and Dr. H. G. Koshia

(Commissioner, FDCA, Gujarat), along with AES Dignitaries -

Shri B. M. Shah, Dr. A. H. Kalro, Shri Natubhai Panchal and Shri

Narendra Kamdar graced the occasion with their presence.

550 alumni gathered at the meet. During the meet, the

L. M. College of Pharmacy Newsletter – ‘The Memoir’ for the

academic year 2016-2017 was launched electronically by the

principal, Dr. M. T. Chhabria and the distinguished guests.

was organized for M. Pharm. Stud ents

(QA) Sem III from 25th July to 9th August,

2018, at Emcure Research Centre,

Ahmedabad, for training them to current

trends in pharmaceutical formulation

and cGMP implementation-2018.

• Three educational visits were organized

for Pharm. D. students to Apollo

Hospital on 24th November, 2017,

Accutest Research Laboratories on 10th

January, 2018, and to various CSSD

departments of Zydus Hospital on

9th and 10th August, 2018.

Dr. Krish Kalyan, a highly regarded

LMCP Alumni and Retd. General Manager,

Dr. Reddy’s, Hyderabad, visited the college

in December, 2017 and also delivered

a talk on ‘Current Status of Pharmacy

Practice in US’.

Dr. B. Suresh (President, Pharmacy

Council of India, New Delhi) visited the

college during the GSPC Sponsored two

days ‘Refresher Course for Registered

Pharmacist’ organised by LMCP on 24th-

25th March, 2018.

• Two days training program has been

organized for M. Pharm. scholars

of Department of Pharmaceutical

Chemistry (Sem III) at Oxygen

Healthcare Research Pvt. Ltd.,

Changodar during 10th and 11th

August, 2018.

• A visit was organized for the students

of M. Pharm. (Pharmaceutics) and

Pharm. D. (Second Year) to ‘Pharma

Tech Expo’, held at the Gujarat

University Convention Centre,

• Under the ‘Swachh Bharat Summer

Internship Programme’ of NSS,

the students of Pharm. D. visited

Adalaj  village of Gandhinagar district

from 18th June to 11th July, 2018, to

create awareness about cleanliness

among the locals, followed by street

cleaning, waste collection and solid

waste segregation.

• LMCPians celebrated the ‘International

Yoga Day’ by a short practice session

under the guidance of Shri Atam

Prakash Kumar, an experienced trainer

on 21st June, 2018.

• A ‘Traffi c Awareness Programme’ was

conducted by LMCP-NSS volunteers

at Vijay Cross Road on 19th July, 2018.

50 student volunteers from B. Pharm.

Semester-III explained the traffi c rules

and norms to the general public.

• LMCP hosted an Outreach Program conducted by Income Tax Department as ‘Operation Clean Money’ on 5th October, 2017. Shri Mahesh Jiwade (Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Ahmedabad) and Mr. A. R. Gokhe (Asst. Commissioner, Income Tax) exemplifi ed the students as potential tax payers of future. As a mark of remembrance, he planted two ‘Clean money trees’ in the college campus.

• An Open ‘Art Exhibition’ was organized in January 2018 for the students of all courses to showcase their creative instinct.

• ‘Saksham’-The Red Ribbon Club of LMCP, in collaboration with LMCP-NSS Unit, conducted a ‘Blood Donation and Thalassemia Testing Camp’ on 23rd January, 2018. A total of 31 units of blood were donated by students and faculty members and 129 students were tested for Thalassemia.

• The NSS unit of college organized a free ‘Eye Checkup Camp’, in association with  Contacare Eye Hospital on 23rd January, 2018, wherein 119 students and members of college participated.

• A ‘Heritage Walk 1.0: Masjid to Mandir’ was organized for the fi rst time in the history of the college on 28th January,

2018, in which 79 students from all

the courses participated along with

the faculty members. The Heritage

Walk included sightseeing of some rich

heritage sites like Sidi Saiyad Mosque,

Swaminarayan Temple, Amdavadi Pol,

Tomb of Queen, Manek Chawk, Tomb

of King, Jama Masjid and Bhadra Fort.

A total distance of 3 km was covered by

walking.

• An orientation program was conducted

for the LMCP-NSS batch 2017-18

on 10th April, 2018 in the presence

of chief guest Dr. Divyesh K. Shastri

(Assistant Professor & NSS Coordinator,

KBIPER Institute of Pharmacy,

Gandhinagar).

• A ‘Live Webcast of TED Talk-2018’ on

the theme ‘The Age of Amazement’

was telecasted at the college on

25th April, 2018 from Vancouver,

Canada. 40 members of the

college  participated in the live

discussion on the subject ‘The

Recreation of Happiness’ with

remarkable speakers - Kai-Fu Le (an

Investor at Artifi cial Intelligence), Luhan

Yang (an Offi cer at E-Genesis), Renzo

Piano (an Architect),  Simona Francese

(an Analytical Chemist), Lukesital Singh

(a Singer) and Alex Honnold (a Rock

Climber).

• 72nd Independence Day was celebrated

at LMCP on 15th August, 2018 with

full zeal by fl ag hoisting, followed by

some incredible cultural performances

and award ceremony of meritorious

students.

Strict Attendance PolicyDue to strict attendance policy enforced by the institute

on students of all the courses, there has been a remarkable

regularization of class attendance. During last year, only two

students of B. Pharm. Sem. III did not fulfi ll the attendance criteria

and thus were not allowed to appear in the college as well as

university examinations.

New Appointment & Promotion

Inauguration of Renovated Lab and Staff CabinThe Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab has been renovated and Staff

cabin (for Pharmachemistry & QA) is modernized at an approximate

expenditure of Rs. 60 lakhs, out of which 15 lakhs were received as a

donation from LMCP Alumni. It was inaugurated by Shri B. M. Shah

(Director, AES) on 13th March 2018.

Upcoming Events• Our institute is going to organize an International Conference

on  ‘Herbal Medicines: Research and Commerce - Global

Perspectives’ from 27th to 29th December, 2018. The conference

is aimed to off er a platform to create synergistic relationships

between the academia and the industry, thereby giving them

the opportunity to identify the thrust areas to excel in this

fi eld. We are targeting 500 participants from Pharmacy and

Life Science fi eld, Herbal and Ayurveda  Industries. About 16

eminent speakers of National and International repute will

be sharing their expertise and ideas on the theme of the

conference. Other details are available at the college website:

• A National Seminar on ‘Nuclear Medicine in Diagnosis and Disease

Management’ is scheduled on 9th February, 2019. The aim of the

seminar is to create awareness among the Medical, Paramedical

and Life Sciences fraternity about the various possibilities and

wide scope for the application of modern medicine in diagnosis,

disease management and research.

• This year our offi cial blog managed to seek the attention of

14984 visitors with 83494 viewers from 56 countries. It was

possible due to the team work of Editors: Amisha Nehru and

under the guidance of Dr. Radhika Pandya (Faculty in charge).

• Revisiting year 2017 we had 11767 visitors with 47442 views

from 46 countries.

Dr. Mamta Shah (Head, Department of Pharmacognosy) has been

promoted as a Professor, in May 2018 and Dr. Anuradha Gajjar has

joined as Professor in Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department, in

June 2018.
