HAPPY NEW YEAR!Following the success of the Year of

the Dragon, Liverpool Chinatown

will commence the Year of the Snake

celebrations on Sunday 10 February 2013.

The 2013 Kuei Szu year welcomes the

active, perceptive, smart yet seductive

black Snake, which is the sixth animal sign

in the Chinese Zodiac. Its ability to quickly

read complex situations in a controlled

manner signals good business acumen.

However, Snakes must be wary of fanatical

commitments as they have a tendency

to spend money quicker than they earn,

which may invoke tension in their personal

relationships.

People born in the Year of the Snake

are viewed as the wisest and most

enigmatic of all. He, or she, may become

a philosopher, theologian, political lizard

or a wily financier. They are thoughtful

and have a desire to live well. Snakes are

cultured, with a love for books, music,

clothes and fine food. Despite all the

fondness for the good things in life, his, or

her, innate elegance gives them a general

dislike for frivolities and foolish talk.

To celebrate the Year of the Snake,

Liverpool Chinese Community groups

and other organisations have arranged a

series of arts and cultural events from the

4 February, with the main celebration

taking place on Sunday 10 February.

As always, the street festivities will be

fun-filled, with plenty of activities for

children and adults to enjoy, including:
