The U.S. Census Bureau announced that Florida has surpassed (officially) New York to become the nation's third

most populous state.

We are so fortunate in Florida at this time to have strong leadership in anchoring Florida as a stronghold for

economic freedom.

Florida's Governor Rick Scott said in his inauggeral address:

"Over the last 20 years, millions of people have escaped from states with climbing tax rates to move to states with lower taxes. Why does

this matter? For starters, estimates say individuals who escaped these high tax states have taken with them around $2 trillion in adjusted gross

income. They are voting with their feet…"

He went on to also say:

"They are leaving states like New York, which lost $71 billion in adjusted gross income from 1992 to 2011. And, they are leaving Illinois, which lost $31 billion in adjusted gross income over that same period. The people that left New York and Illinois had one thing in common —

their No. 1 destination was Florida. Florida has inherited over $26 billion in adjusted gross income from New York and Illinois during that time. In total, Florida has inherited over $100 billion in adjusted gross

income. To put that in perspective, that is more than 1/8th of our entire GDP last year. And, we've inherited 1.7 million residents during that

time."

Florida has proven that you can grow without

growing government. That you can grow without

increasing taxes.

People who move to Florida tend to spend their money in Florida. That is good for all Floridians. When people bring

their money to Florida they spend that money on real estate, they help our charities and they create more jobs.

More than one million people have left New York and Illinois over the past 20 years and the main reason is lower

taxes.

Taxes continue to be lowered in Florida and over the next 4 years they will be lowered by more than another $1 Billion

dollars.

Bring your money to Florida because we understand that it is your money and here you get to keep more of your

money.

I'd like to also add a plug here for homeschool. If you homeschool, Florida is one of the most homeschool friendly

states in the United States.

Just remember this:

Remember why you moved to Florida and don't bring big taxing politics with you. Leave those in those states you

moved from. Join us in keeping taxes low while continuing to grow jobs and becoming the global leader.
