That’s a lot of you! It’s a good thing we’re having a very special Konnect today! We’ll actually watch some videos and commercials you may have seen on TV or YouTube before. Before we start that, let’s go over our Konnect rules! Watch with me!

I’m so glad when I hear the ABCs! They remind me that Jesus makes us right with God! If you want Jesus to be your leader, tell your small group leader today, and they can let your family know. There’s something very exciting about that: baptism is next week! Baptism is a way to show everyone around you that you chose Jesus to be your leader. If you chose Jesus as your leader, ask your parents if you can get signed up to be baptized! Now it’s time to talk about what we can do this week to watch out for what’s pure and turn off what’s not. God will help us know the difference!

But I’m not talking about when you’re dirty and you need a bath … I’m talking about keeping icky, sticky sin right out of your heart! Repeat after me, “Pure heart!” (Kids repeat) Pure heart! Super! I love to honor God with my offering! Okay, let’s learn today’s point. It says, “Stay pure. Say, ‘No!’ to sin.” Repeat after me loud and proud! Now, I heard some talk of hidden candy and stolen sunglasses on Konnect HQ—let’s see what’s going on, and whether or not the crew chooses to stand up to temptation!

Eww! Sin is nasty when we let it build up in our hearts. I’m so thankful Jesus always loves us and will make us pure again when we ask for His forgiveness. And I want to stay pure, too! Great job! Now we’ve got a little science experiment to do in our small groups—and let me just say—it’s gonna show how gross sin gets when you don’t say, “No!” to it.

If you want to start following Jesus today, let your small group leader know, and they’ll talk about it with your family. God kept it simple for us to get to know Him: when we admit our faith in Jesus and follow Him, we’re God’s friends! He’ll help us grow closer to Him. And the closer we grow to God, the better we’ll get at saying, “No!” to the things that tempt us to live our own way instead of God’s way. There’s always a way out, and God will help you to see what it is. Talk to your small groups about that right now!

I saw some generous kids in here! Today, our point is, “Live pure. Don’t tempt your friends to sin.” Now repeat it after me. Live pure. … (Kids repeat) Live pure. … … Don’t tempt your friends to sin! (Kids repeat) … Don’t tempt your friends to sin! Way to go! Now that you know the point, let’s see what links the crew on Konnect HQ find to bring it home!

Raise your hand up high if your group was the best at getting the pom-poms in the buckets! (Kids raise their hands.) Wow! That’s fantastic! Now, I’ll say the first part of the point, and you kids finish it for me. Ready? (Kids respond.) I can barely hear you! C’mon, are you ready? (Kids respond louder.) Great! Finish it off! Now, how many rules were there? Show me with your fingers! (Kids hold up 3 fingers.) That’s right, three. Follow them so you have a great time, and some of you might even get Dot stickers from your small group leader! They’re good for points at the Konnect window! Now it’s time to show honor to God with tithes and offerings. Watch the offering video while I choose two friends to pick up the gifts you brought for God! (Choose helpers.)

Looks like Nik and Peyton were not leading each other toward God’s way at first—but then it clicked, and they helped each other do what was right instead! The Bible verse they learned about that can help us, too. Say it with me! (Do motions and say in rhythm with kids) Romans 14:13 … make up your mind not to put anything in your brother’s way that would make him trip and fall. You sounded great! Now we’ve got a game to play to help you figure out how you can be careful around your friends so you’re leading them to God’s way and not to sin!

When I found out Jesus died for me to make me right with God, I was surprised He knew everything about me and still loves me so much! If you want to follow Jesus, let your small group leader know, and they can talk to your family about it. Having Jesus in your heart is the first step in learning what things are good for everybody and what things might tempt others around you. As you get to know Jesus more, you’ll be able to lead others better and better to follow the rules they need to follow and make the choices that keep them pure! Go ahead and talk more about living pure and helping others in your small groups!
