The Proof Tests• As Christians, God has given us tests to

prove our loyalty and see if we’ll be true.

2 Corinthians 2:9; Deut. 8:2; Rev. 2:10

• We must be faithful in little tests so that we can be entrusted with the greater things. Luke 16:10

• Are you passing the tests, even in the little things? 1 Thessalonians 5:21

Overcoming Selfishness

• To love thyself is not a sin, to love only thyself is. Eph. 5:29; Mark 12:31; Phil. 2:3-4– As the steward sought to help others he also

was helping himself. Luke 16:10; Acts 20:35

• Develop a love for God. – To be like God… 1 Jn. 4:8; Mark 12:30

• Develop a love for others.– An eye to see others needs. Matthew 14:14

Why Help Others?

• You need it. Acts 2:44-46– We all have a need to belong and feel useful.

• They need it.– Always somebody who needs help Mark 14:7

• God wants it. – Because it’s how you would want them to

treat you. Mt. 7:12

• It helps the overall culture. Phil. 2:15

As a Christian I Should…

• Open my eyes… Psalm 119:18

• Open my heart… 1 John 3:16-19

• Open my treasure chest… Hebrews 13:16– Share whatever riches I have to help others.

Time, Talent, Advice, Things, Money, etc.

• Love them! Romans 13:8

The Kingdom Seeds of Giving• Let us look forward to getting more into the

subject of living to give. We can begin to see how these are seeds which will sprout into many fruitful blessings. Col. 1:10

• God’s word is the seed for salvation. Lk.8:11

• Be saved today by hearing and believing the gospel Rom. 1:16; 10:17; Repenting of sin Acts 3:19 Confessing Christ Acts 8:37 and being Baptized into Christ. Rom. 6:3-6
