Summer 2018 Class Schedule NORTH CAROLINA UKULELE ACADEMY Hey, Two, Three, Four! Ages 2, 3, 4 • 45 min. class, meets weekly for 6 weeks, $139. Offered During Winter Session Only. This class series encourages developing speech and singing skills and indulges every child’s desire to get up and move! Your child will enjoy the sing-along style singing and interactive, hands on lessons in melody, rhythm and dynamics of music. They’ll even learn a few simple chords and how to use them to create songs. Little Strummers Ukulele Keiki Thursdays @ 4pm Ages 5 & 6 • 45 min. class, meets weekly for 6 weeks, $139. Keiki, (kay’-kee) is the Hawaiian word for child and that’s just who this course is tailored for. For kids who are developmentally 5-6 years old, this course offers songs, activities and light technique. Kids learn Hawaiian words, traditional songs, learn how to hold and strum the ukulele, play chords, make up their own songs and perform on stage. JUL 12 Meet the Ukulele 1, Age 7-9 Mon @ 4pm Ages 7-9 • 1 hr class, meets weekly for 6 weeks, $139. Even if your child has never played an instrument or had any experience with music, this class will have them playing a song after the first class (and loving it!). They’ll learn ukulele parts and tuning, rhythm and chords, a great repertoire of songs, plus ‘aloha’, Hawaii’s golden rule. The environment is fun, relaxed and encouraging. Ukulele 101: An Introduction Mon @ 7pm
Ages 13-15 • 1 hr class, meets weekly for 6 weeks, $139.
Learn the parts and tuning of the ukulele and basic rhythm and chords. Get schooled on the history of the uke, and why the Hawaiians have such love for it. You’ll also learn the right way to hold, strum and pick it so that it’s easier to play (and sounds better, too). You’ll learn music of Hawaii, music that’s current plus great vintage tunes. Plus, learn all about aloha.

Intro to Ukulele 1 Offered at 2 different times: Thursdays @ 10am -OR- Thursdays @ 6pm
Beginner • 1 hr class, meets weekly for 6 weeks, $139.
Learn to strum a tune in the first class! Learn parts and tuning of the ukulele, basic rhythm and chords. Plus, Hawaiian tunes and other favorites, ukulele history, famous players and what aloha is really all about. No fear, only fun in our relaxed beginner environment.

Next Level • 1 hr class, meets weekly for 6 weeks, $139.
A continuation of Ukulele 1 for those who have just begun to play the ukulele or for someone who already knows how to strum a handful of chords. You’ll also learn to play songs finger style, study strum techniques to take your strumming to the next level and even learn ukulele blues!
