Little Rascals
Newsletter 01/2018
Introduction
Welcome to the first newsletter of 2018! The past few months has seen Little Rascals grow with many
new dogs trying daycare for the first time or being pampered in our grooming salon.
We are continuing to improve our facilities to make your dog’s visit to us even more enjoyable with new
enrichment activities and equipment for the daycare and new techniques being used in the grooming
salon.
If you have any suggestions about what you would like to see or you have any feedback after your visit,
please let one of the members of staff know, send us a message or leave a note in our suggestion box
which is located on the office desk.
Animal Expo 2018
The Animal Expo 2018 is being held between the 20th and 22nd April and Little Rascals are pleased to be
stallholders there this year.
We will have a stall packed with toys, accessories, treats and
loads of information so make sure you come along and say hello.
Daycare
Little Rascals provides high quality daycare where your dogs are supervised by dedicated staff who are
well educated in dog behavior and are committed to ensuring your dog has the best possible time with
us.
Dogs are naturally sociable animals and spending time in our daycare can provide both the mental and
physical stimulation that they need to keep happy and healthy. Our dogs are able to enjoy the pool,
sandpit, play gyms, tunnels, treat games, bubbles, balls, Frisbee and as much interaction with the staff
as they want. There is also plenty of opportunity for naps throughout the day and enough space for
your dog to watch what is going on without joining in on the action if they want a bit of a break.
Our daycare is open from 7am until 6pm Monday to Friday.
Monday Mixed with any sociable dog being accepted
Tuesday Mixed with any sociable dog being accepted
Wednesday Mostly small dogs but we do have room for some larger dogs who are good with our
smaller visitors.
Thursday High-energy day with mostly large breeds, some space is available for smaller dogs
although Thursday is not recommended for nervous dogs.
Friday Mixed with any sociable dog being accepted
Some days, it is necessary for us to separate our dogs into smaller groups, this is so that friends who
have similar energy levels can play together. We understand that friends come in all shapes and sizes so
we do not necessarily separate according to size, we feel that the playstyle of your dog is more
important when selecting appropriate groups. Dogs may move in between groups as the day progresses
depending on what other dogs are in attendance.
If you would like to know what your dog gets up to in daycare, we regularly upload photos to facebook
and Instagram and we encourage you to comment and share any photos. If you do not have Facebook or
Instagram but would like regular updates, please make sure that we have your mobile number and we
can text through photos of your dog during the day.
Each day, a report is written on every dog that we have in our daycare. This enables our staff members
who arrive at different times of the day to see how each dog has behaved, what they have particularly
enjoyed doing or who they have enjoyed playing with. It is also a place that we can write down if we
have any particular concerns about your dog, for example, if your dog has been drinking more or less
than normal or their toilet habits are different than normal. This can be reported back to you when you
collect your dog.
A full day of daycare is $45 but there is also the option of doing a 5 hour session which is $30 or if you
would like to just drop your dog off and enjoy a bit of retail therapy or a trip to the movies, we can look
after your dog for up to 3 hours for $20.
We have flexible drop off and collection times, just let us know an approximate time that you will arrive
when you make the booking so that we can allocate staff accordingly and ensure that the groups are
ready for your dog’s arrival.
There is also the option of purchasing a block of 10 sessions with a discount of 10% or a block of 5
sessions with a discount of 5%.
10 full day sessions $405 instead of $450 10 half day sessions $270 instead of $300
5 full day sessions $213.75 instead of $225 5 half day sessions $142.50 instead of $150

Everyday Good Manners Training
Everyday Good Manners is a 3 level dog training course which starts
from very basic skills and gradually working up to complex
behaviours.
Each level is a 6 week course and costs $110 with a certificate being
issued upon successful completion of the assessment. Spaces are
limited with a maximum of 4 dogs being allowed onto a course
which means that everyone gets the individual attention that they
need and there is plenty of time to work on any problem behaviours
or specific things that you would like your dog to learn.
Our courses are currently running on Sundays with Level 1 at 6pm, Level 2 at 7pm and Level 3 and 8pm.
Places must be booked in advance.
Dogs For All
Assistance / Service Dogs are an increasingly common sight in society, however, waiting lists with the
larger organisations are very long, with many currently not able to accept new applications for the
foreseeable future.
Dogs For All is pleased to be accepting applications for Owner-Trained
Assistance / Service Dogs.
If you would like more information about training your dog to become an
assistance / service dog, or would like help in deciding whether an assistance /
service dog is the right thing for you, please contact Lorraine and we can have a
fully confidential discussion in further detail.

Dogs love a celebration too which is why Little Rascals now offers a
party package for our daycare dogs.

requirements catered for.

If your dog does not attend daycare but you have something to celebrate, you are still able to order the
cake / cupcake & biscuits to be collected from daycare on a day of your choice for your dog to enjoy at
home.
Forms are available from reception and we require at least 48 hours notice to prepare for your dog’s
party.
Pet Shop
Make sure you check out our range of food, treats, toys and accessories. We are regularly adding more
items to expand our stock. If there is anything that you would particularly like to see, please let us know.
We are able to order the following brands of food. Price lists are available on our website, facebook
page or at the daycare.
Interactive Dog Toys
These interactive toys vary in difficulty level with the Spinny being level 1 and the Casino being level 3,
however, we have seen in daycare some dogs struggle with the Spinny and are able to complete the
Casino so it really depends on your individual dog as to which one would be the most suitable.

Volunteers / Work Placement / Work Experience
Are you, or somebody you know, looking to find work within the animal industry and need that all
important experience of working with animals? Or maybe you have a few hours of spare time on your
hands and want to spend it playing with some of our gorgeous dogs. Whatever your reason, we love to
have volunteers and work experience / placement people with us.
Just let us know how many hours you would like and whether you would like to be in the grooming salon
or daycare (or both) and we would be happy to have you on board. No previous experience is necessary
as full training will be given but it is important to remember that we could have up to 20 dogs in the
daycare and the environment does get busy (and noisy)!
