Ladies and gentlemen, Let me share my story, “The Little Lizard loses His Tail”. One day, I was wandering at the wall. Poor me, I felt very hungry. “Hmm..what should I eat? I am a carnivore because I eat insects.” “Oh, there’s an insect. I should go and catch it for my delicious meal.” While I was catching the insect, suddenly a big cat pounced on me and steps on my tail. “Ouch!” I quickly pulled myself away to save myself from being eaten by the big cat. And I left my broken tail behind. “Oh no! I look so ugly without my tail.” So, I decided to borrow a tail from someone. I saw a mother swallow under the eaves. “Madam Swallow, may I borrow your tail?” The mother swallow said, “No way. I need to use it for steering while I’m flying!” I bid goodbye to her and went away. Then, I climbed up a big tree. I saw an old bull waving his tail. “Uncle Bull, may I borrow your tail?” The bull refused. “I need to drive the flies away with it!” I bid goodbye to him and went away.

THE LITTLE LIZARD LOSES HIS TAIL

Good morning honourable judges, teachers and my fellow friends.

Do you know what am I?

Yes, I am a lizard or you can called me a little lizard.

Look at my lovely tail. Isn’t it cute?

But I wonder what is it for? Hmm..do you guys want to know too?

Come! Let’s follow me throughout this journey to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen,

Let me share my story, “The Little Lizard loses His Tail”.

One day, I was wandering at the wall. Poor me, I felt very hungry. “Hmm..what

should I eat? I am a carnivore because I eat insects.”

“Oh, there’s an insect. I should go and catch it for my delicious meal.”

While I was catching the insect, suddenly a big cat pounced on me and steps on

my tail.

“Ouch!” I quickly pulled myself away to save myself from being eaten by the big

cat.

And I left my broken tail behind.

“Oh no! I look so ugly without my tail.”

So, I decided to borrow a tail from someone.

I saw a mother swallow under the eaves. “Madam Swallow, may I borrow your

tail?”

The mother swallow said, “No way. I need to use it for steering while I’m flying!”

I bid goodbye to her and went away.

Then, I climbed up a big tree. I saw an old bull waving his tail.

“Uncle Bull, may I borrow your tail?”

The bull refused. “I need to drive the flies away with it!”

I bid goodbye to him and went away.

Then, I went to a zoo. I saw a big kangaroo.

“Uncle Kangaroo, may I borrow your tail?”

The kangaroo answered, “No way. I need my tail to balance my body while I

hop.”

So, I bid goodbye to him and went away.

I was very sad because I cannot borrow any tail from anyone.

I returned home and told my mother what had happened.

But my mother smiled at me and said, “Silly child, turn around and see for

yourself. Isn’t that a tail behind you?”

I quickly turned around and saw a new tail behind me.

“Wow! I have got a new tail!”

I was very happy and learned that lizard can grow new tail to replace the broken

one.

Ladies and gentlemen,

In the nutshell, the tails of different kinds of animals are suited to different

functions.

Lizards use their tail for protection from any predator.

Birds use it for steering and kangaroo uses it for body balance.

Meanwhile, bull uses its tail to wave the flies away.

I hope everyone enjoy my story.

Thank you being a wonderful listener.
