EXECUTIVE PRODUCTION OF BOOK

we’re market leaders in literary

event production in the Iberian

Peninsula, having garnered

attention through a broad

when Booktailors managed the

Portuguese representation at the

Bogota international book fair,

where Portugal was the guest of

honour country.

All our events benefit from a communication strategy structured around three core areas: 1. Advertising and media

partnerships 2. Press relations 3. Social networks

Our team invites a wide va-

riety of professionals associ-

ated with the field of pub-

lishing to every event, such

as arts journalists, but also

publishers, booksellers,

translators, and more.

From one edition to the

next, events attract in-

creased media attention,

with a rise in the number of

visiting accredited journal-

ists and media coverage.

Booktailors events have

welcomed all of the national

press, as well as having gar-

nered attention from local

outlets.

Since 2006, LeV—Literatura em Viagem has been committed to the

discussion of global topics, inviting authors and other public figures to

share their worldview. It’s a meeting-point for trade professionals and

artists, a venue that encourages them to share their thoughts and

projects, allows lesser known authors to garner more attention, and

encourages the translation of books that have yet to be published in

Portugal.

Since 2012, Fronteira – Festival Literário de Castelo Branco is an event

that reaches out to younger audiences, involving several talks where

authors engage with students from various levels of education, while

also catering to a more mature audience through a set of talks aimed at

that particular age group. From 2015 onwards, given that Castelo Branco

is practically a border town, the festival aims to clearly establish itself as

The Diáspora festival, rooted in Belmonte’s historical connection with

the diaspora (being the birthplace of the seafarer who discovered Brazil,

and home to a large Jewish community that lived there in hiding for

hundreds of years), seeks to leverage that heritage and explore that

concept through books, reading, and the voyage of literature. After its

first edition, in 2014, where invited authors were mostly Portuguese

nationals, this event seeks to go global, welcoming the biggest names in

world literature, preferably authors with links to various countries,

continents, and linguistic backgrounds.

The Festa da Poesia is a cornerstone project in Matosinhos. Since 2005,

the year when the new Florbela Espanca municipal library was built, it

is a celebration of December 8th, a landmark for being both the day

when poet Florbela Espanca (1894 - 1930) was born, and also the day of

her passing. In Matosinhos, the anniversary of the poet’s death is

celebrated through an homage to poets and poetry. With the underlying

theme: “Poemas para Salvar a Vida” [Poems to Save your Life], it is an

event that features activities for all audiences, bringing poetry to several

venues throughout Matosinhos.
