LDC supports educators in providing rigorous Common Core instruction; continuous, reflective professional improvement; and the integration of literacy and content in instruction from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. LDC aligns with the Common Core State Standards and the PA Core Standards. The LDC frameworks innovative literacy instruction is a way for teachers to put “legs” on the Core Standards and bring them to life in their content area classrooms. The CCSS are “hardwired” into template tasks to ensure students are given an assignment with clear expectations for reading and writing and are explicitly taught the content area literacy skills necessary to complete the assignment. AUDIENCE Teachers of students with disabilities. Regular education teachers with inclusive settings. Classroom teachers of content area subjects in grades 6-12, special education teachers, reading specialists, IST, and administrators. This event is not relevant to short-term and day-to-day substitutes and paraprofessionals. DATES/TIME Three full-day sessions. Monday, September 22, 2014, Wednesday, October 15, 2014, and Wednesday, March 11. 8:30am to 3:30pm each day. FEE $35 for Subscribers (Chester County educators); $335 Regular (educators outside of Chester County) registration.
