Architectural & Design Applications of Bamboo: a Workshop

Architectural & Design Applications of Bamboo: a Workshop

• The workshop would include instructions using audio visual means & other class room instruction methodology.

• It is aimed at training the participants into various aspects of using Bamboo as a construction material in various design & architectural applications.

• The end deliverables for this exercise would be ‘design & architectural artifacts’ in the form of models, prototypes , installations & complementary documentation.

• Benefits to attendees are manifold: Bamboo is no longer the material of the future, it is increasingly becoming the material in vogue. It is one of the few materials that is being explored in at an unequivocal pace; daily new products and processes are being tried out in bamboo. Bamboo presents itself as the material of choice for anybody who is looking at a green sustainable solution for their housing needs. Consistent explorations with Bamboo is putting us closer to the goal of having an international standard for building construction using bamboo as the core construction material. Though like with any natural materials there are challenges still to universal standardized specifications.
