Education Policies for Global Development

GLOBED constitutes a solid and coherent international education program in the

areas of global education policy and international development. The existing

postgraduate offer in Europe does not devote sufficient attention to these themes;

education for development is usually part of broader International Development

Studies, and typically features a narrow disciplinary and territorial focus. By bringing

together research centres from all around Europe from different backgrounds and

networks, GLOBED will promote an interdisciplinary approach to the field of

education and development, and will provide expertise from all regions of the

world.

GeoTec - Master of Science in Geospatial Technologies The Master program aims to qualify for life-long learning in the many application

areas of Geographic Information (GI), such as environmental planning, health,

logistics and transportation, geography, marketing, or energy provision. It is a

societal and economic need to educate and qualify personnel working on relevant

problems in these fields, e.g., in the context of global challenges

Leading International Vaccinology Education

The Joint Master Degree entitled “Leading International Vaccinology Education”

(LIVE ) is a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences with socio-economic sciences

and humanities, delivering 120 European Credit Transfer System with an emphasis

on employability of the graduated international students and dedicated to train the

next generation of vaccinologists to fill a gap in global post-graduate formation.

Medical Imaging and Applications EMJMD

Medical Image Analysis and Computer Aided Diagnosis systems, in close

development with new imaging techniques have revolutionized healthcare in recent

years, allowing doctors to achieve a more efficient and early diagnosis and a better

treatment. Technology behind those systems stems from research areas in

computer science such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision,

image processing and sensors and acquisition. The aim of the MedicAl Imaging and

Applications (MAIA) EMJMD is the application of these areas for the specification,

design, development of computer systems for the acquisition, analysis and

interpretation of medical images with the aim of achieving a more efficient

diagnosis and treatment.

MATHMODS

Mathematical Modelling in Engineering: Theory, Numerics, Applications

"Mathematical modelling" refers to the use of mathematics and related

computational tools to bring real-world, challenging and important socio-economic

and industrial problems into a form simple enough so that a good solution can be

found in a reasonable time, while keeping the relevant features of the problem.

Constructing models requires knowledge of enough mathematical theory, methods of

solution which are really effective and efficient, computational tools at hand to do it,

some knowledge of the field of application, and communicative skills to understand

the important elements from experts in that field. Our master programme tries to put

together all these elements to produce professionals able to work in different relevant
