monetary quantities). For example:
1,253,045.56 kWh (NO/NOT) 1 253 045.56 kWh (SÍ/YES) ó/or $1,253,045.56 (SÍ/YES)
.
Observaciones:
Observations:
1. When preparing the title of the thesis or thesis, the
student and its director must take into consideration that
it is desirable that the same TITLE appear not only in
the final document but in academic products derived
from it, such as presentations in congresses, technical
reports, articles, etc .; therefore, it is recommended to
create attractive titles in different scenarios. Avoid using
verbs in the title; Mainly you should avoid that the title is
very similar to the strategic objective.
2. A very common error occurs when establishing the
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES, one or several of these turn
out to be more strategic than the STRATEGIC
OBJECTIVE. For this reason, you should pay special
attention to the verb used in the writing of the strategic
objective.

3. ANÁLISIS LITERARIOS
LITERATURE REVIEW
puntos sobresalientes. Cada párrafo
introduce el tema o subtemas. Las demás
oraciones amplían el tema con evidencias
basados en referencias confiables.
Definition:
• The Postgraduate in Sustainability defines by
Literature Review a written document with the
purpose of discussing the state of the art of a specific
topic.
Precisions:
• For discussion, it is necessary to understand the
presentation, evaluation and contrast of theories,
concepts, ideas, instruments or other interesting
factors that will give rise to the creation of hypothesis
and/or research questions; In turn, selection of
instruments and comparison of the results obtained.
• In the Literature Review must confront ideas, concepts,
theories, thoughts, tools and / or other elements that
the author determines necessary to support their study.
• Literature Review is an intellectual exercise and not
merely a compilation of documents found in the
literature.
• A paragraph must lead to another paragraph, they
have to make sense, or congruence.
• Use appropriate connectors to join ideas or
paragraphs.
• To include only descriptions of what exists in the
literature collection is NOT ENOUGH, therefore, the
discussion about the implications of the literature used
should be encouraged.
• The Literature Review is used not only at the beginning
of the study but in the analysis of the results of the
same since the theories found in the literature review
are not only the basis to establish premises, research
questions or hypothesis but to compare the results
obtained in the field study with what has happened in
other latitudes.
Requirements:
• The presentation must be clear and orderly; For this
reason, it is recommended that it be presented through
sections in which one or two ideas at the most are
analyzed, each idea must be analyzed from different
perspectives.
• The congruence between the presentation of sections
and ideas is fundamental.
• The definition of terms is indispensable at the
beginning of the Literature Review and of each section.
Avoid using synonyms of the terms throughout the
writing.
• The document must take into account the following
elements:
o Body: Here each of the salient points are
developed. Each paragraph introduces the
theme or sub-themes. The other sentences
expand the theme with evidence based on
reliable references.

appropriate is "retrieved" or "visited" or "date of last
access".
• For the names of people or institutions use uppercase
and lowercase letters.
• For the abbreviations of institutions or organizations
use only CAPITAL letters.
• The access dates put them in the following format:
Day / month in Roman numerals / year
▪ For example, if a page was consulted on
November 3, 2011, it should be:
03/XI/2011 in the space “Access Date”
del EndNote Web.

8. PLATAFORMAS DE GESTIÓN DE REFERENCIAS (MENDELEY, ENDNOTE, OTROS)
REFERENCE MANAGEMENT PLATFORMS (MENDELEY, ENDNOTE, OTHERS)
1. Only the tutor decides if the record of the References used
throughout the thesis or thesis document is made
through:
- ,
- ,
- other app (for example, the same
Word),
- or manually.
2. The format of references should be according to the
Harvard Anglia style of the Manual of the Graduate
Page, however, when using the platforms, slight
variations may be presented that should not be
significant.
Despite the variations that may exist, ALWAYS have to be
consistent throughout the document with the same type
of reference used.
Ejemplo / Example
El año de las referencias
con o sin paréntesis
The year of reference can
be with or without
parenthesis.
Ejemplo 1
Example 1
Torres-Sospedra, J. (2015). Enhancing integrated indoor/outdoor
mobility in a smart campus. International Journal of Geographical
Information Science, 29(11), pp.1955–1968.
Ejemplo 2
Example 2
Torres-Sospedra, J., 2015. Enhancing integrated indoor/outdoor
mobility in a smart campus. International Journal of Geographical
Information Science, 29(11), pp.1955–1968.
no sean variaciones significativas.
Be consistent:
• If you decide to use parentheses in the year,
ALL references must have it.
• If it is decided NOT to use parentheses in
the year, NO reference should have it.
Other cases may be presented and accepted,
provided that the tutor's endorsement is available
and that they are not significant variations.
• Autor,
• año,
• título,
• editorial,
• Vol.,
• No. (Issue),
• ISSN o ISBN,
• página web,
• DOI,
• etcétera.
3. It is very important and that the references are VERY WELL
registered in the platform they use, and with the
information as COMPLETE as possible, since it is what
gives solidity and quality to the document:
• Autor,
• year,
• title,
• editorial,
• Vol.,
• No. (Issue),
• ISSN o ISBN,
• web page,
• DOI,
• etc.

Ejemplo de forma NARRATIVA / Example of NARRATIVE form:
The concepts of sustainable development (SD) and management systems (MS) are finding
increasing acceptance in a variety of fields, including academy, politics, and non-governmental
organizations. These concepts are also being used by the general population. This paper aims to
describe the perception of different experts by discussing the usefulness of sustainability
management systems (SMS) as holistic systems that might integrate environmental, social, and
economic elements. This research was framed by the general systems theory and its nature is
totally qualitative and exploratory in order to understand the significant attributes that affect or
benefit a management system to reach sustainability. A total of 14 interviews were conducted with
several experts around the world. Some are professional persons in sustainability issues in general,
and some in environmental, health and safety (EHS) issues in particular. The results show that,
although there is a continuous debate on the sustainability approach, several core elements can be
addressed for SMS. For instance, 71.4 percent of the interviewees agreed that management
systems are useful for sustainable development, or at least potentially useful, and 42.9 percent of
the experts declared that having a clear understanding of the long-term economic benefits for the
company is an important incentive for their implementation. Interviews were conducted with a
limited number of experts and there was no field verification of claims. Therefore, conclusions
derived from these sources depend on the veracity of the information provided by participants.
Expert bias may also have an impact on the outcomes of this research. The findings provide
management systems’ practitioners with key elements when SMS are being created, maintained
and evaluated. The findings are not results from general concepts, but rather elicited from empirical
data from fourteen sustainability, and health and safety experts around the world.

12. GUÍA PARA PRESENTACIONES (SEMINARIOS, DEFENSAS, Y PONENCIAS EN CONGRESOS)
GUIDE FOR PRESENTATIONS (SEMINARS, DEFENSES, AND PRESENTATIONS AT CONFERENCES)
- Fecha
caso.
It is important that the student in his defense consider the
following aspects so that his presentation is as professional as
possible:
• Punctuality, order and quality in the presentation.
• Take care of personal appearance
• Proper use of the voice.
• Knowledge and order of ideas.
• Organization of the presentation.
• Dynamics (corporal expressions).
• Addressing the public and the jury in a fluid way, not parking
at a single point.
• Consider that the assistants can have very varied
antecedents and academic levels.
• Carry the files on at least 2 USB devices with the files to be
presented in case one fails.
• Do not take much roll but focus on the subject, be concrete,
respecting the established time.
• Read and recite as little as possible, be more spontaneous
demonstrating experience in the subject.
• Defend the assertions made. Do not say "is that the tutor
told me to put" or "the text says that but I do not know what it
means".
• One day before presenting the seminar, send the PPT file to
the tutor.
• If necessary, at least one day before the presentation will be
made with the tutor.
• Visual aids (slides):
- Use of large print.
- Do not saturate the slide with the text.
- Tables and understandable graphics.
- In case of extensive tables, present them in parts in
different slides.
- - Take care of contrasts of letters and background
(Light letters with dark background and vice
versa).
- - DO NOT USE CAPITAL LETTERS ONLY AS IT
CAUSES TIREDNESS OF THE AUDIENCE AND
SATURATION OF THE SLIDE.
• On Slide 1:
- Name of the graduate program
- Title with the name of the work
- Student's name
- Principal's name
- Date
• List all the slides (1, 2, 3, ...).
• Unless otherwise indicated, there is no limit to the number of
slides, but take into account the time required for submission
to adjust the number of slides as necessary.
• Finally, consider that these criteria also apply in case they
present a paper in an academic congress and that they
should adjust it according to the case.

13. GUÍA PARA ESTANCIAS ACADÉMICAS
GUIDE FOR ACADEMIC STAYS OR INTERNSHIPS
When applicable, in relation to the stays that will be carried out,
it is important to consider the following:
IT IS NECESSARY for interested students to read and
understand the requirements in the CONACYT mixed
scholarship call.
They must understand that the mixed scholarship is a Student-
CONACYT relationship and therefore the Postgraduate will only
support with administrative procedures.
The internal procedure is as follows:
• The tutor and tutor reach an agreement on the possible
dates of the stay taking into account the progress of
their thesis or thesis.
o The stay should not affect the performance of
the tutor.
o For CONACYT, the amounts of maintenance,
and where appropriate, the support for
purchase of medical insurance for the stays,
will be granted taking into account full
months regardless of the day of beginning
and end of stay.
• The start of the stay process can be as follows:
o The TUTOR is the one who makes the
contact between the student and the foreign
advisory teacher. The tutor or the program
may have people or institutions that are
related to the projects developed, letting the
tutor know the relevant information, or,
o In the event that the student has the
opportunity to make a first contact with the
person in a university of interest, with the prior
authorization of the tutor, they WILL NOT
SPEAK IN THE NAME OF THE GRADUATE,
but in a personal capacity as a graduate
student.
• The formats requested in the call are filled out, signed
by both tutors and sent to the Postgraduate
coordinator.
• With the previous papers the postgraduate coordinator
makes a letter of application and follows the indications
of the call. Once the process has started, both the
coordinator and the student must follow the instructions
in the call.
• If accepted, the student must deliver a copy to the
medical expenses’ insurance coordinator abroad.
Inicio / Start
33
personal (souvenirs, ropa, entradas a eventos
deportivos o culturales, etc.) ya que serán
rechazados.

• On the first day of the stay, the coordinator must be
notified via email with a copy to the postgraduate tutor.
• The coordinator will notify CONACYT of the start of the
stay and that is when the deposits will start. It should
be considered that the first deposit is not necessarily
made immediately, there are times that it takes a few
weeks, so the student must have financial support for
the beginning of the stay.
• Both tutors must monitor the student's career abroad.
Usually through Weekly Reports.
Considerations:
• If they are going to request complementary support (as
long as they have paid the enrollment and tuition
concept for the first semester), this must be in
advance. For this it is necessary to make a letter
addressed to the postgraduate coordination and must
be signed by the student with the approval of the tutor.
• The student must be responsible for the checking
expenditures that are generated by the granting of
such support. So do not forget that you must bring the
invoices, receipts, or tickets, that prove the amount of
support that will be granted:
o The verification can be of food, transport to
and from the place of the stay (plane, bus,
etc.), as local transport (taxi, urban truck,
etc.), and lodging.
o The receipts MUST NOT include the
consumption of alcoholic beverages or
articles for personal use (souvenirs, clothing,
tickets to sporting or cultural events, etc.) as
they will be rejected.
o In the case of lodging, to check three things
are required: Receipt of payment, copy of the
contract, and copy of an identification of the
administrator. This is the most complicated
check, so it is recommended that you better
choose to check food and transportation.

horarios:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html
• Do not forget the documents that must be delivered or
sent to the coordination (letter of acceptance of the
mixed scholarship, the copy of the medical expenses
insurance, etc.).
• For VISAS issues, review the
requirements specified by the
government of the country to be
visited very well with
ANTICIPATION, as well as having a
valid PASSPORT.
• The following link is an optional tool
in the planning of meetings with time zone differences:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html
• When planning the outward and / or return trip, you
need to consider that many times the hostels or
assistance houses charge for full months, so they must
schedule their day of arrival and departure well.
• Unless the tutor indicates otherwise, always the
priority during the stay will be to advance in the
Thesis / Thesis project and / or in the article, the rest
is a complement.
• CANCELLATION OF SCHOLARSHIP AND STAY: If
the tutor and / or some of the competent authorities
consider that they are not taking advantage of the stay
as expected, or consider that there is a compelling
reason, the scholarship can be canceled at any time
during the stay.
CODE OF CONDUCT
It is extremely critical that the student is aware that
everything he does during the stay, including both
academic activities and personal recreational activities,
involves both his name and the reputation of the
University of Sonora and the graduate program, so who
needs to perform with an exemplary conduct and avoid
activities that lend themselves to misinterpretation or
that could put at risk both their physical and moral
integrity.
Also, the student must always respect both the laws and
social norms or coexistence, following the uses and
customs of the place of stay.
This includes the use of internet and / or social
networks, since in different countries there is cybernetic
police that can detect "apparently" illegal browsing
patterns, although they are not necessarily so in
Mexico.
• IMPORTANT: At the end of the stay, request a
letter certifying the fulfillment of the same with
the dates that lasted from start to finish, on
letterhead.
