1. Social Security Sector
Quantum of Assistance Eligibility criteria

As per estimates With a view to encourage the students belonging to OBC boys and to strive towards attainment of quality education, hostel facilities are being provided to the students of OBC boys and hailing from rural & remote areas so that they can avail educational facilities in urban areas.

NGOs working in the field of SCs

implemented on pilot basis in 225
villages of two districts viz. Solan,

Gap filling fund.
The main objectives of the scheme are to
ensure integrated development of selected
villages having with more than 40%
scheduled caste and scheduled tribe
population.
The requisite infrastructural facilities in
terms of road network, water supply,
sanitation and street lights etc. will be
developed in a coordinated manner.
(d) Central Sector Schemes
(100%)
(i) Babu Jagjivan Ram Chatravas
Yojna for SCs Girls
As per estimates The Primary objective of the revised
scheme is to attract the implementing
agencies for undertaking hostel
construction programme, especially for
SC Girls towards the broader vision of
containment and reduction of their
dropout rate. (ii) Free Coaching and Allied
Scheme for SCs/OBCs
As per proposal Students belonging to SCs/OBCs
Community having total family income of
Rs. 3.00 lac per annum are eligible under
the scheme. Stipends @ Rs. 1500/- & Rs.
3000/- PM per student for local and out
stationed students are provided
respectively.
(iii) Top Class Education Scheme
for SCs who secure admission in
short listed Institute of Excellence.
Full tuition fee,

P.M.,
Books Stationery Rs 3000/- P.A.,
Computer with accessories Rs

The primary objective of the scheme is to promote merit amongst the SC students for pursuing studies beyond 12th class in the designated institutes of excellence.
(iv) Up gradation of Merit of SCs Rs 15000/- per student per year. The Scheme of Upgradation of Merit of SC

students provides for 100% Central Assistance to States/UTs for arranging remedial and special coaching for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes students studying in class IX to XII.
(v) Pre-Matric Scholarship to the
children whose parents are
engaged in un-clean occupation
Rs. 110/- per month (Ist Class to X
Class)
Rs. 700/- per month for Hostellers.
Scholarship will be admissible to the children/wards of Indian Nationals who, irrespective of their religion are:
Either presently engaged in manual scavenging or were so engaged upto or after 1.1.97 or the date on which the "The Employment of manual scavengers and construction of Dry latrines (Prohibition) Act 1993" came into force in their State/UT, whichever is earlier;
Presently engaged in Tanning and/or Flaying.
Presently engaged in waste picking/ collecting.
(vi) Post –Matric Scholarship
Scheme for SCs
Rs 230/- to Rs 550/- P.M. Only those candidates who belong to Scheduled Castes so specified in relation to the State/Union Territory to which the applicant actually belongs i.e. permanently settled and who have passed the matriculation or Higher Secondary or any higher examination of a recognised University or Board of Secondary Education, will be eligible.
(vii) Rajiv Gandhi National
Overseas Scholarship Scheme for
Rs 10,000/- to 16,000/- P.M. Any student belonging to Scheduled Caste category who has been admitted to

SCs M.Phil./Ph.D. degree in a University or academic institution by completing the required formalities for admission at that University or academic institution is eligible for the award of Fellowship subject to provision of the scheme as per the advertisement of UGC.
National Merit Scholarship
Scheme for SC
Three students scoring highest
marks in +2 level examination in
four streams @ Rs 60,000/- , Rs
50,000 & Rs 40,000/-
Students should belong to Scheduled
Castes (SC) or Scheduled Tribe(ST).
Family income of the students from
all sources should not be more than
Rs. 1.00 lakh in the preceding
financial year.
There shall be separate awards for
SCs and STs.
The student should have appeared
in any of the recognized
State/Central Board of Secondary
Education and scored not less than
50% marks in the aggregate in the
Secondary Certificate Examination
Medical Aid Scheme for SCs
(Surgery of kidney, heart, liver,
cancer and brain or any other
life threatening disease.)

Caste and Scheduled Tribe Community.
Annual family income shall not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum.
Those who are suffering from major

(Construction of building for

Relief to victims of SCs Upto Rs 5,00,000/- The applicant shall belong to Scheduled Castes.
The applicant shall be an SC victim of atrocities or his family member or dependent by other communities due to
the victims, caste, community or identity
in the society.
The applicant shall be a victim of relatively heinous crimes under the POA Act, 1989 like murder, rape, arson, etc.
(ix) Pre-Matric Scholarship for
OBCs
Rs. 110/- per month (Ist Class to X
Class)
Rs. 700/- per month for Hostellers
Scholarship award will be sanctioned in the case of students whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs.44,500 per annum.
(x) Post-Matric Scholarship
Scheme for OBCs
Rs 230/- to Rs 550/- P.M. The scholarships will be open to Indian nationals belonging to OBCs, as notified by the Central Govt./State Govt./ UT Admn.;Only those candidates who belong to OBCs so specified in relation to the State/UT to which the applicant actually belongs, i.e. permanently settled and who have passed the Matriculation or Higher

secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education will be eligible.
(xi) Coaching and Allied Scheme
for Minorities
As per proposal To provide free coaching to the students
belonging from the minority communities.
3. Disability Sector
(a) State Sector Schemes (100%) Quantum of Assistance Eligibility Criteria
(1) Identity Cards to Disabled For availing various
concessions meant for disabled Disability certificate having 40% or more disability
(2) Integrated scheme for Persons with Disabilities
(i) Survey, early detection &

To sponsor or cause to be sponsored awareness campaign and

This scheme is applicable to all categories of disabled students having disability of
40% without considering their family incentive.
.The rates of scholarship vary from Rs. 350 – 750 per month for days scholars
and Rs. 1000-2000 per month for boarders.
(iv) Free Vocational training
through ITIs
Rs 1000/- P.M. stipend To develop skills suitable to their individual capacity, vocational
rehabilitation training is provide to persons with Disabilities through

selectedTIs in identified trades by the department of SJ& E.
The candidate should be bonafide Himachali.
Should be between age group of 18-45 years. Candidate should pass
minimum education qualification
The training is providing free of cost and the annual income of the applicant
should be more than 1.00 lacs.
(v) Self employment 20% of the project cost or Rs
10,000/- whichever is less as
back ended subsidy on the
loans sanctioned by H.P.
M.F.D.C.
Disabled persons having disability of 40% are provided loans by the HPMFDC
for setting up small ventures like tea stall, tailoring work etc.
Social Justice & Empowerment department provides subsidy on projects
sanctioned by HPMFDC upto Rs. 10000/- or 20% of the project cost
(whichever is less)..
(vi) Incentive to best employer and
best performing PWDs
Rs 25,000/- to best employer
Rs 10,000/- to best performing
individual.
The scheme is to encourage the employer is provide employment to
maximum PWDs.
Best performing incentive is provided to recognized the efforts of PWDs
who have themselves provided as role model to others.
(vii) Marriage grant to PWDs Rs 8000/- (to 40% - 69%
disability)

Encourage the able young bodied men/ young girl for willingly marrying the
disabled of other sex.
