LISBON BIKE TOURS

Why the Lisbon Bike Tours?

With the Lisbon Bike Tour, the Lisbon Bike Cruise or the Petiscos Bike Tour, in only

a few hours, you will see and experience the highlights of Lisbon and you will not

feel as tired as walking neither be confined to a bus or a van.

We will not make you choose between taking a picture or enjoy the views. In our

Lisbon Bike Tour you will have time to do both! You’ll have plenty of time to see

around and to feel the city.

If you feel like getting into town, see the monuments, the architecture, learn about

the history and portuguese society, the Lisbon Bike Tour is ideal for you. And…no,

no, we will not make you climb the seven hills of Lisbon. In fact, you will no climb at

all (unless you want to!!).

We have designed a very easy itinerary, flowing downhill or just flat, along the

beautiful waterfront where the Tagus river meets the Atlantic ocean. Every now

and then we will stop and explain you what is envolving us, why Portugal is the

european country with the oldest borders, why just a small and tiny country has

once been the world’s superpower. You will taste the most famous portuguese

pastry and “ginginha”, a sweet but strong local drink not to be missed.

The Lisbon Bike Tour will lead you in a vibrant and wonderfull Lisbon experience.

LISBON BIKES AND BOATS – half day – ONLY GROUPS

Why the Lisbon Bikes and Boats?

With the Lisbon Bikes and Boats, in just a few hours, you will see and experience

Lisbon inside out. In such a short period of time, you will get a great variety of

perspectives of this cosmopolitan and vibrant city.

If you are looking for something exciting, varied, unique yet very easy, the Lisbon

Bikes and Boats is for you.

We start in the top of Parque Eduardo VII, cycle downhill into the oldest part of

Lisbon and, along the riverfront, to Belém, the other most important historical area

of the portuguese capital.

In Belém, we board the very safe, powerfull and exciting RIB’s (Rubber Inflatable

Boat) and cruise the river Tejo, either upriver to meet both the Lisbon’s bridges,

25th of April and Vasco da Gama, or we will meet the Atlantic and cruise along the

fortresses that use to defend the old Lisbon’s entrance from the Atlantic attacks.

MONSANTO MOUNTAIN BIKE TOUR – half day

Why the Monsanto Mountain Bike Tour?

With this outdoor option in the city, only 6 minutes away by bicycle from the

city center you will be able to feel the freedom of an enourmous natural

enviroment.

Where before there use to be just a plain field, today there is a giant forested

recreational area with mediterranean pines, cork and oak trees. Plenty of wide

and narrow trails makes this area ideal for mountain biking. Superb views of

the city and the river Tagus are surprising.

This tour is ideal for those who just want to do some exercise while in Lisbon,

to relax or to be away from the busy city fuss. You can combine this tour with

the reverse Lisbon Bike Tour making it into a longer half day tour or a full day

tour.

Page 9: Lisbon bike tour & outdoors ag - 2012 (1)

visitor does: not only you will visit the village with its old palaces and manor

houses but also the natural and exotic environment that surrounds it with

astonishing sea views from the mountain side.

Sintra is a prime Portuguese highlight. Since the ancient times its nature and

beautiful rock formations have been attracting many peoples. It has always been

a favorite spot for Romans, Arabs and the Portuguese Aristocracy.

ABOUT US

At Lisbon Bike Tour & Outdoors, we are keen on sports such as biking, hiking and kayaking – sports that you can find in many

of our tours and programs – but we do not seek to provide radical adventure or great physical challenge.

To us, outdoor sports are synonymous of being close to nature and a healthy lifestyle, and we rather take travelling as a

learning experience and an opportunity to meet people, cultures, and ultimately oneself.
