PREFERENTIAL RUNWAYS
Main runway for departures: RWY 25 Main runway for arrivals: RWY 16L/34R (nonschengen country arrivals will prefer runway 16R/34L to shorten taxi times) Departing or landing HEAVIES may ask for 16R/34L if they require longer runway length Wind components if steadily exceeding following (these are not to be intended as an operational limitation but as a guideline for ATC when selecting RWY in use):
• 30kt steady cross wind component (gusts excluded) and • 10kt steady tail wind component (gusts excluded)

PARKING
TAXI ROUTES
Taxi routes are generally quite unrestricted and to the controller's discretion, these are guidelines to help in mixed arriving and departing traffic.
Runway 16C/34C is closed and to be considered taxiway D
For Runway 25: From the nonschengen area: (Z) M, R, B or (Z), A, B From the Schengen area: G, P, B or G, NG, N, B One way: EG – South D – West B - East Traffic taxing to holding point RWY16R via A must hold short of RWY07 and GND must hand off to TWR before crossing. ALL aircrafts are required to have a valid flight plan and a correct flight level:
• Northbound traffic from 270° to 089° EVEN FLIGHT LEVEL • Southbound traffic from 090° to 269° ODD FLIGHT LEVEL
ALL aircrafts are required to file a flight plan. VFR traffic is NOT allowed at LIRF.

Roma Director (final)
LIRR_N_APP will be responsible for the arrivals, whereas LIRR_S_APP will be handling departures.
DEPARTING AIRCRAFTS: When under radar control departing aircraft shall be maintaining an IAS not exceeding 250 kt under FL100. The above speed limit may be removed by ATC with the phrase: “No ATC restriction on speed”. Whenever a speed restriction should not be safe for operational reasons pilots shall immediately advise ATC maintaining the minimum operational speed acceptable.

All the pilots inbound to aerodromes within Roma CTR (LIRA and LIRF) if not otherwise instructed by ATC, shall reduce speed according to speed limit points published on the STAR charts. Also, pilots shall reduce speed to:
• 210 kt IAS, starting the turn to intercept the LOC or the VOR radial, or at a distance of 12 NM from RWY threshold in case of straight in approach.
• 180 kt IAS completing the intercepting turn or at 8 NM from RWY THR in case of a straight in approach.
• 160 kt IAS at 4 NM from RWY THR. In case of low traffic situation expect to be given DIRECTs and plan descent accordingly. Controllers will, whenever possible, provide estimate track miles to the ILS intercept point.
“Cleared to Land After…”
When two successive aircraft are in sequence to land, the second one may be allowed to land before the first one has vacated the runway in use provided that:
• the runway is dry and free of any kind of precipitation • the second aircraft has been informed and states to be able to see the first
aircraft continuously until it has vacated the runway When applying land after procedure ATC will give to the second aircraft the instruction to land after the preceding aircraft specifying name of company, type of aircraft; e.g.:
"Land after preceding (name of company) A321 landing on RWY 16L". Responsibility for ensuring adequate separation between the two aircraft rests with the pilot of the second aircraft including respect of prescribed wake turbulence separation
In case of GO AROUND: INFORM TOWER IMMEDIATELY
RWY16L ILS W approach: proceed on RWY heading starting to climb to 2000ft, at 450ft turn left (max 200kts) heading 038° to join RDL 173° CMP VOR.
RWY16R ILS Z approach: climb to 3000ft, at 450ft turn right to
intercept RDL 193° OST VOR. During Independent ILS approach the initial turn after the GO AROUND is vital to guarantee separation with the parallel runway in case a simultaneous GO AROUND

After landing:
Landing aircrafts on 16R shall vacate AFTER RWY 07 and in any case shall maintain highest safe speed while vacating to reduce runway occupancy time.
To do this make use of the HIGH SPEED EXITS AG and AH.
Landing aircrafts on 34L shall vacate BEFORE RWY 07 and in any case shall maintain highest safe speed while vacating to reduce runway occupancy time.
To do this make use of the HIGH SPEED EXIT AF.
If unable inform tower immediately.
IF ANY INSTRUCTION GIVEN BY ATC AT ANY TIME, IS UNCLEAR, ASK THAT IT BE SAID AGAIN - by text if necessary
CONTINUE STANDARD 1 PROCEDURE In high traffic situations tower may use this procedure to reduce workload of both tower and
ground. When the pilot is instructed: “Continue standard 1” he shall:
• Vacate 16L as soon as practical
• Continue taxi on D
• Monitor GND frequency 121.9
• Hold short EG
