UHT milk - Uniquely delivered as a liquid

The Prominend liquid products are a palatable UHT milk – uniquely delivered as a liquid – and based on food-grade dairy ingredients to ensure the highest protein quality and thus a highly digesti ble product. In additi on, it provides calves with the enriched nutriti on they need, resulti ng in vital calves with a high growth rate. The product has an excepti onally long shelf life of 12 months unopened and eight weeks opened packaging. Since the product is provided as a liquid, it is easy to dilute with water which excludes clumping. Furthermore, measuring the amount of water and milk with the Prominend

bucket reduces the risk of procedural errors. Just fi ll the bucket with water up to the water line and add the milk up to the Prominend line.

In additi on to liquid feed, the Prominend portf olio includes high quality dry feeds. These dry feeds have the same taste and smell as Prominend liquid milk to ensure a consistent taste percepti on and ease of feed transiti on for the calves.

Ad libitum feed application

The liquid product can be fed ad libitum which guarantees a gradual feed intake with smaller porti ons per feeding. Spreading the milk intake leads to more feedings per day with a lower amount per porti on. This improves feed intake and digesti on, resulti ng in a higher daily gain. The product can also be fed cold within fl exible feeding ti mes, or given warm without a strict temperature, which guarantees ease of labour. The Prominend teat is designed and developed to sti mulate the fl ow of the salvia, which increases the amount of enzymes in the stomach to improve the oesophageal slot response.

High-tech production technology

Prominend Acti vator is designed for calves in all kinds of conditi ons and administered directly aft er the colostrum. The product has a shelf life of 12 months unopened and eight weeks opened packaging. It is advisable to provide restricted warm twice daily, which guarantees a high feed intake and gives the calves a save start.

Preparation of Prominend

The milk is very simple to prepare knowing that Prominend Elite and Acti vator always will be diluted by a factor: 1/3 Prominend to 2/3 water. In additi on, as the product is deliverd as a liquid it is easy to dilute with water which excludes clumping.

Prominend liquid products are packed in a bag-in-box: a vacuum plasti c bag inside a cardboard box. The plasti c bag protects the excepti onal nature of the product opti mally. A tap in the box allows the milk to be poured either manually or automati cally.

Prominend MuesliAvoids feed refusal aft er weaning

Prominend Muesli is an excellent quality dry feed based on high-grade ingredients which meet the nutriti onal requirements of the young weaned calf. Prominend Muesli smells and tastes the same as Prominend liquid milk, which sti mulates a smooth transiti on to dry feed. Maintaining a high feed intake post-weaning reduces the weaning dip. The muesli is fed ad libitum in additi on to the milk and aft er the milk period. The muesli needs to be fed for at least four weeks before switching to another supplementary feed.

Feed advice

Every farmer has diff erent needs, yet they all share the same goal of increasing output whilst maintaining healthy calves. To guarantee excellent feed intake

during the complete rearing period, all Prominend products, whether liquid (Acti vator and Elite) or dry (Muesli and Concentrate), have the same smell and taste percepti on to encourage all calves to keep eati ng gradually, even when the milk period is fi nished.

Prominend ConcentrateSteady conti nuati on to boost growth

Prominend Concentrate is a good quality dry feed to continue the Prominend programme due to the same taste as Prominend liquid milk which encourages calves to eat. Prominend Concentrate can be given pre-weaning to guarantee a steady post-weaning feed intake continuation for an efficient growth performance. The concentrate can be given complementary to the home ground roughage.
