Exploring OptionsThese members are mostly looking for jobs. Some 70% are employed full-time but looking, and the majority of their LinkedIn settings focus on positions or career.

Savvy NetworkersThe name says it all. This group is all about networking. They have an average of 61 connections and rank “great” in social network influence.

Senior ExecutivesThis group of LinkedIn users has the highest income, with a mean salary

of $104,100 and the highest purchasing power at work, at

$99,000. More senior executives joined for business-contact

networking than the other groups. They are also the most happily

employed group: 81% are employed full-time and not looking for another job. The oldest age group, they skew

more highly male at 64%.

Late AdoptersLate to the party, this group joined

overwhelmingly because friends asked them. Networking and making

contacts are not priorities for these members. Not surprisingly, their

social-networking influence is also low, at an average of 23 connections, well below the overall average of 38.
