456 Kids for ChristAwesome adventures, great games, creative crafts and other interesting “stuff” await you and your friends for 456 KFC. Each night has a great meal, fun activities and a lesson encouraging children to be like Christ. Birthday Party for One-Year-OldsIt’s a party! A community birthday party. Meet other parents of all the children who turned one year old in 2013. Children’s ChoirChildren in grades 1 - 6 are invited to sing for worship once a month at the 11am service, for special programs and services, Sunday School Christmas Program, Angel Breakfast, Palm Sunday, Christmas Eve (3pm service), and a concert in May.

Girl Scout Troop 52945All girls are welcome in our troop. We have fun earning badges and going on field trips like Disney On Ice, Experience Music Project, and ice skating. We also enjoy weekend camping. Sixth-grade and older - Cadettes - meet at 5:30pm while the younger girls meet at 6:30pm.

Helping Hands for 4-year-oldsThe 4-year-olds (and their parents) help put together Easter Baskets for Mirror Lake Elementary School families.All the provisions will be provided. Children will have opportunity to decorate cards for the families and collect all the supplies table by table until their basket is filled.

Meet the Babies - Zero to One-Year-OldsWho are the other babies at St. Luke’s? Better yet, who are their parents? It’s hard to have conversations with other parents as you juggle your baby’s needs. This time set aside for parents to meet and share joys and struggles of having a baby in the home. No agenda, but a time for moms and dads to get to know each other. We want to make it easy for you and are meeting for a few minutes after the 9:30 service/before the 11:00 service.

On Fire Sunday SchoolWeekly classes for kids 3-year-old through 6th grade. We provide a variety of activities: class time, Bible Adventure, service projects, Super Sunday, Scripture memory and prayers. Children can register at any time!

St. Luke’s Cub Scout Pack 307St. Luke’s is the Charter Organization for Federal Way Cub Scout Pack 307, currently consisting of 1st - 5th grade boys. Do you have a boy or know one who might be interested in joining the fun? Hiking, family campouts, pinewood derby, BB guns, archery, summer camp, swimming, innertubing at Snoqualmie...and much more! Come check us out to see if your son would like to be a part of Cub Scouts.

Sunday School SnacksOrganize, serve and donate snacks for Sunday School kids once a month, during the Bible Adventure every week for 5 weeks, and prepare treat bags at Christmas.

Bible Study Fellowship (BSF)Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) is a non-denominational Bible study designed to help people draw closer to God through the daily study of His Word and be better prepared to fulfill God’s call for their lives. The Federal Way Women’s Day class meets at St Luke’s, but there are also evening classes for women, evening classes for men, and young adults.

Bridge ParentingWhen a child reaches adolescence, it can feel like a gulf has opened between the parent and the child you used to know. My twice-weekly blog offers tips and suggestions for how to build a BRIDGE to your teen, using Balance, Respect, Inspiration, Discipline, Guidance, and Empathy. Topics already introduced include lying, self-centeredness, and how-old-is-too-old-for-an-Easter-basket.

Jim Lyon, now executive director of the Church of God, Anderson Indiana, approaches these questions from a biblical perspective. Happy Hearts - Women’s MinistryTo go with the February “Heart Month” theme, women are learning about heart care. Heart health includes emotional and spiritual health as well as physical health. Lake Tapps/Lakeland Hills Small GroupCurrently includes ages from 35-55 (other ages welcome). We are discussing topical subjects and are studying the book 30 Life Principles. Learn at Thompsons’ Small GroupThis small group meets weekly to study the Word of our Lord through various Bible studies, St. Luke’s sermon studies, and various books (i.e. Hole in the Gospel). The group also volunteers for numerous activities at St. Luke’s.

Marriage MinistryMarriage can be difficult at times. Many problems involve a lack of understanding the differences between men and women and how God has wired us differently for a purpose. Periodically, classes will be offered to enrich the marriage relationship. Classes may be topical, book based, on DVD, or other formats that effectively convey helpful information to not only allow your marriage to survive, but to thrive.

Membership ClassThis workshop discusses St. Luke’s mission and vision and topics of the Christian faith, and it is a time for your questions to be addressed. Executive Leadership TeamThe ELT is the formal link between the congregation and the Senior Pastor. The function of this team is to think ahead about where God is leading St. Luke’s and to carry out all policies and procedures put in our constitution and bylaws. St. Luke’s Foundation & Legacy DevelopmentThis group is working to develop a plan in which to directly link the financial sustainability of the church with its long-term ministry vision. 10 For the WorldThis advisory team makes recommendations in partnering with organizations and missionaries through financial support. Our congregation gives to the church, and we decide how to bless organizations/missionaries with 10% of that total giving. We give to both local and global organizations that do humanitarian or faith building work. We meet as needed but require some reading and preparation.

Centro D’Amistad Church PartershipSt Luke’s partners with a small Latino church, Centro D’Amistad Christiano - a community that reaches out to the Latino population in Federal Way. We provide a space for our Latino brothers and sisters to worship, study and fellowship. It is our desire to move our relationship beyond facility logistics, and dream about how God is leading us in joint ministry together. Federal Way Coalition Against TraffickingThe Federal Way Coalition Against Trafficking (FWCAT) is a grassroots community action team working in partnership with Washington Engage and supported by Women of Vision. Mirror Lake Elementary - Palm Sunday Prayer WalkPrayer-walking is on-site prayer which focuses on the needs of a specific community. This Palm Sunday we will be praying for the many needs of the Mirror Lake community as we prayer-walk the school grounds. Walks will be held after each Sunday worship service and will last approximately 40 minutes. You may choose to prayer-walk alone or in a group with others.

Support the Wukasches!Dave and Debbie Wukasch serve on medical mission teams all over the world and are part of our St. Luke’s family. We support them by gathering the following items on an ongoing basis: *iron pills, adult vitamins and prenatal vitamins, children’s vitamins, infant vitamin drops, non-liquid antacids, 1% Hydrocortisone cream (Dollar store), Athlete’s foot cream (Dollar store), reading glasses, hotel soaps and shampoos, toothbrushes, soccer balls, crayons (even gently used), coloring books, and stickers!

Swaziland Child Sponsorship TeamThis L-Team is dedicated to keeping our St. Luke’s family focused in both prayer and action towards our congregation’s sponsored children in Swaziland. We will encourage new sponsorship, organize periodic child sponsorship events at church, facilitate opportunities for correspondence between our members and the children in the Mahlalini ADP, and liaise with the World Vision office here in Federal Way.

Bookstore ClerkBookstore volunteers work behind the counter, sell merchandise, check out DVDs and videos, take inventory, process and rotate merchandise, decorate and display. Clerks are scheduled on a 3-month rotation.

Braille MinistriesWhat a blessing it is to have the gift of sight! We take so much for granted—from reading our email to texting on our cell phones, to reading books and our Bibles. The Braille teams put together books of the Bible to enable those without sight to read God’s Word.

Care of Palm Plants & Garden AreaDo you have a green thumb and/or a hankering to feel like you’re in the tropics? We have a garden and some palm plants that need your help! Team members work in two-month cycles to keep our garden beautiful and tidy. They also care for the palm plants that are used to decorate on Palm Sunday and Easter.

Church Nursery VolunteersThis team works with children age 3 and under while parents worship or attend special meetings that offer nursery care. Must be at least 18 years old and go through a Washington State Patrol screening. Workers are scheduled 3 months at a time and given a choice of times they are available.

Coffee & Cookie CrewThis team sets up and takes down coffee and cookies every Sunday.

Groundskeeping: Adopt-a-BedEnjoy gardening? Consider “adopting a bed” at St. Luke’s. We need help with regular maintenance and care for our garden beds around the church facilities. We are looking for families to care for specific beds throughout the warm months, including regular weeding and laying down bark in the spring months. You can use your own equipment or equipment from the church.

Groundskeeping: Lawn MowingThis team takes care of weekly lawn and garden bed needs, working on a rotating schedule.

Mirror Lake Tutoring - KITESKids + Reading = Success! KITES is the acronym for Kids in Tutoring Experience Success. Help a student experience success by tutoring a half hour or an hour once a week. Choose the grade level of student you wish to work with as well as the day and time. A short orientation will increase your confidence in this endeavor. Many of the students’parents do not speak English and are, therefore, unable to tutor them at home. One-on-one assistance at school, which can rarely be provided by every teacher to every student, is often crucial in assisting students to read at grade level and achieve success throughout their education.

Ignite ConfirmationConfirmation is an opportunity for students in 9th grade or older to make a personal confession of Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. In preparation for their confirmation, students are taught the truths and habits of the Christian faith. On Confirmation Sunday students will take responsibility for their faith and the church—committing to Christ what is already His through Baptism—their lives.

Indoor SoccerWe play with a special low bounce ball (futsal ball) and small goals. We usually just scrimmage. We generally have skilled players, but beginners are also welcome.

Light it Up!Light It Up! is a Wednesday night hangout for youth from 7th grade to 12th grade. Enjoy games, relevant study and powerful worship. Light It Up! is a great way for students to connect not only with other Christian teens, but also with a personal Savior and Lord who seeks to call you His own. Come and see!

St. Luke’s Venture Crew 307St. Luke’s is the Charter Organization for Federal Way Venture Crew. Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 through 20 years of age. Are you interested in high adventure like white water rafting, rock climbing, hiking, camping, ...and much more? Then Venture Crew is a great place for you.

Succeed - Winter 2014Research indicates that teens are unprepared for life after high school. Prepare them for the stress, temptation, and change with the help of this 8-session college preparation DVD course! For High School seniors, parents are encouraged to attend also.

Youth LeadershipDo you have a passion to help youth seek the Lord Jesus in fun, challenging, and exciting ways? Then join this team! This team is for adults, 20 years or older, with a heart to serve the youth with whatever gifts, talents and resources they have. We meet for training and planning once a month. A WA State Patrol background check is required.
