Authorities advised residents of Berlin, Potsdam and neighbouring administrative districts to keep windows and doors shut due to smoke. More than 500 residents were evacuated to emergency shelters on 24 of August as the flames threatened to engulf three villages. The present map shows the fire delineation in the area of Lindow, Germany. The thematic layer has been derived from post-event satellite image by means of visual interpretation. The estimated geometric accuracy is 5 m CE90 or better, from native positional accuracy of the background satellite image.
