• Grade separations at Rutherford Road and McNaughton Road.
• Noise walls along the Barrie corridor to mitigate noise from construction and train operations.
• Proposed GO Station at Kirby Road through market driven Transit Oriented Development strategy.
UPGRADES TO MAPLE GO
Upgrades to Maple GO Station are currently in design and procurement.
• New west platform and second track, facilitating improved two-way service
• Expanded bus loop with 4 bus bays
• Expanded Passenger Pick-up and Drop-off
• Bicycle connections and facilities
• Western pedestrian access point off Lindenshire Avenue
NEW STATION SITE PLAN
• When it comes to accessing our stations, it’s important to create convenient options to connect our customers to our stations.
• In particular, we want to create opportunities for local residents to access public transit without needing to use their cars.
• Pedestrian access at Lindenshire Avenue provides a convenient connection
for those west of Maple GO to access our station.
WHY A NEW ENTRANCE ON LINDENSHIRE AVENUE?
WHAT WE HEARD FROM YOU LAST TIME
• Preference for the southern alignment at Lindenshire Avenue and Stonebriar Drive
• Concerns about increased vehicular traffic on Lindenshire Avenue • Soften the design of entranceway footings
• Be mindful of local wildlife when in construction
• Ensure CCTV cameras are not pointed at neighbouring houses
• Mitigate excessive lighting as part of your design
PROCEEDING WITH SOUTHERN ALIGNMENT
Based on feedback from our last meeting we are proceeding with the alignment at Lindenshire Avenue and Stonebriar Drive
NEW DESIGNS: SOFTENED ENTRANCE FOOTINGS
Updated designs to soften entranceway by: • Minimizing overall
footprint with slighter promenade area
• Moving PRESTO machine
inside the enclosure
• Installing more minimalist signage
• Pointing CCTV cameras away from homes
NEW NIGHT-TIME RENDERING
New evening rendering shows how more subtle lighting will better fit the character of surrounding residential street
