Linda's Dress Up Dolls Collection In this collection you have two basic dolls . The Baby Bella doll and Curly Shirley (sitting and standing dolls). I have knitted both in 4ply and DK (8ply) The dolls and their clothes can be knitted in any colour. I hope you enjoy knitting them as much as I did. Abbreviations. S1 - slip 1 st. PSSO - pass slip stitch over KFB - knit front and back to make an extra stitch. Gst - garter stitch (knit every row) K - knit P - purl StSt - stocking stitch (knit one row and purl the other) K2tog - knit 2 together TTRS - thread through remaining stitches (break off yarn and use a darning needle) Sts - stitches YFW - yarn forward Beg - beginning Materials Yarn The baby doll and girl toddler doll all pale peach with white socks. Spread some crafting glue on the sole and place in shoe, pressing firmly**. Once dry, sew on press stud fasteners to shoe and straps on girl shoes. Add a pretty button on the top side for decoration.

Slip on SneakersFollow instructions for shoes to ** Then stitch up seams either side of the tongue, almost to the top of the seam. Then using some contrasting yarn, secure two long stitches across front of the shoe to look like laces.

Lacy Sleeves Cast on 6 sts in colour used for edge of skirt 1/ K1 (YFW K2tog x 2) YFW K1 (7)2/ Knit row3/ K2 (YFW K2tog x 2) YFW K1 (8)4-5/ K 2 rows6/ cast off 2 sts knit to end (6)Final row cast off all stitches leaving a long tail for sewing.Thread the long tail through row ends on the straight side and gather them up gently, so sleeve cups slightly,making sure there is enough length to attach to armhole on dress. Knit 8 sequences for capped sleeve.For skirt edgings or decoration knit to length required.

Making up DressStitch up back seam of dress as far as button band. Stitch the other end of the straps to the back corners of the dress. Sew on one press stud fastener on to the button bands on the back back of the dress, at neck edge. On the outside of the button band sew a pretty button, same place as the press stud fastener. Stitch on the lacy sleeves. If picot edge on skirt has been knitted, stitch this up now.

NappyCast on 34 sts in whiteK1 rowCast off 5 sts beginning of the next 2 rows (24)St St 38 rowsCast offFold nappy in half length ways so row ends meet. In center of row ends stitch securely together. 2 or 3 stitches should be plenty. Then sew half a press stud fastener on the end of both the two strips at the cast on end, and their other half on the front of the nappy. Make sure nappy is tight enough so it wont fall off.

BowCast on 28 sts in colour of dress or contrasting colour StSt 10 rowsCast off. Leaving a long tail for sewing. Stitch up row ends and fold so seam is center back and wrap remaining yarn around center of bow. Sew a few stitches at the back to secure. Stitch on a safety pin to attach to hair or neck of doll.

HairBeginning at the Base of the hair (Nape of neck)Using 5mm needles cast on 9 sts in brown (or colour of choice) Scheepjes Sweetheart Soft DKPurl 1 rowKFB x 9 (18)St st 8 rowsK1 K2 tog to end(12)Gst 3 rowsK1 k2tog to end (8)TTRS tightlyPlace on head TTRS at the top of head and stitch around face and along back of head. To make more volume and add curls to hair. Make a few long twisted cords out of the Scheepjes fleece yarn and stitch it to the head making a few small loops here and there for curls.

EyesI used 2 ply cotton on 1.2 mm needles for Shirley's eyes. Cast on 10 sts in whiteChange to blue. K 1 row, Purl 2 tog to end (5) TTRS tightly, stitch up seams add a few chain stitch to join up the white edge.For Bella's eyes I used buttons and a little black 2ply crochet cotton.

To make up:Wrong side facing, stitch up first and last white rows in first white section, drawing them tightly together to make the picot frill. Repeat for other two white sections. Then stitch up side seam and gusset.
