We’ve added thousands of parts and included loads of useful information in the descriptions as well as many extra pictures so you can be confident buying the parts you need. Our parts are separated into various logical departments and we have fast and easy search features (by year, model, department, part number, description, etc.). We want to make it as easy as possible to find what you need! Baker’s Auto opened as a general auto restoration shop in 1976, and became the nation’s leading Lincoln specialist in just a few short years! Even when our Lincolns were young, the intricate electric, vacuum and hydraulic systems were intimidating for most, and customers traveled from miles around to get parts and honest, knowledgeable repairs completed on their beautiful classics. Since our business is 99% Lincoln, (we occasionally repair Thunderbird tops and windows) we know these cars intimately and work to quickly troubleshoot and efficiently repair problems. SHIPPING • Prices do not include shipping, which varies according to package size, weight, and shipping method. We may not

be able to provide a precise total until the package is weighed and measured, but we can usually provide a close approximation. Our web site will calculate the shipping for most items shipped within the US.

• Some large items (body panels, moldings, etc.) require a crating fee in addition to freight costs. We literally build a crate around these items to protect them during shipping and the cost varies by size and weight.

• Most orders ship by UPS, USPS or Freight carrier. Express services are available. Again, actual weight, size, distance, and carrier are used to calculate shipping charges.

• International shipping cannot be calculated on our web site; please provide your email address so that we can present your shipping options and costs. Also, international customers are responsible for their own country’s taxes, duties, and fees.

DAMAGE • Damaged packages should be brought to the attention of the carrier immediately. You must save all packaging

Each of these manuals contains an absolute wealth of information for troubleshooting, disassembly, and repair.. If you are serious about being effective and efficient, you need the right reference books. Even with our experience and familiarity, we refer to these manuals every day. There is honestly so much great information; you couldn’t possibly memorize it all! Looking for torque specs to reassemble your engine? They’re in there. Wonder what all those vacuum lines do? You will find some great diagrams. Trying to find an electrical problem? Follow the wiring diagrams that are broken down by system to simplify the job. BRAKES 7


Lincoln braking systems are substantial and stop easily when everything is functioning properly. However, preventative maintenance is truly critical. If you cannot remember the last time any work was performed here, it’s well worth the expense to remove a couple of wheels for a closer inspection. You want to check the thickness of the shoes and pads, the trueness of the rotors and drums, make sure there are no leaking components (pull back the boots on the wheel cylinders to check them). 10 ENGINE/TRANSMISSION


The 1961-68 Lincoln 430/462 engine is an incredible hearty workhorse. With regular maintenance this engine can run for hundreds of thousands of miles. In fact, if you think your Lincoln engine needs rebuilding, you really should invest a little time to be sure this is necessary. First, perform a compression check. If all cylinders measure within 10-15 PSI of each other and no cylinders are low, you are off to a good start! Replacing a worn timing chain and gear set, replacing leaking seals and even repairing exhaust manifold leaks can all be repaired while the engine is still in the car! If you do need to rebuild, we’ve put together a great kit to get you back up and running!

CONVERTIBLE TOP/WINDOWS 13


We’ve spent the last 40 years repairing Lincoln convertible tops and windows and are adept at quick troubleshooting of these systems (the manuals are certainly a great help). Recently we had several requests to replace the relay bank and hydraulic systems with all new parts, so we put together some money saving kits to allow you to do just that! This makes sense if you are doing a total restoration, or simply want to eliminate the possibility that an original 50 year old part has failed. With the age of the rubber hoses and the corrosion caused by the brake fluid in the original early (1961-63) systems, this can certainly be worthwhile for reliability (When replacing all the hydraulic components just be sure to refill with transmission fluid this time and never mix fluids!).

1961-69 Sedan, Coupe, Convertible Interior Carpet Set ........................................................................................... $495.00 Our interior carpet sets include the floor sections (with underlayment pad), lower doorpanel sections, lower seat sections, and carpeted kickpanels under each side of the dash. Each section is bound in yarn, windlace, or vinyl depending on what was there originally. 1961-63 kits are the original style loop carpet; 1964-69 kits are cut pile carpet. We match most original colors and send a sample for your approval prior to building. We can clean and attach your original Lincoln driver’s side heelpad, no extra charge!

1961-69 Sedan, Coupe, Convertible, 69-71 Mark III Trunk Upholstery Kit .. $345.00 We make these trunk kits duplicating the original heavy gray felt-like material. Each piece is precut, sewn, with edges finished in serging yarn (where done so originally). We include the 61-65 gray fiberboard side panels that are pre-cut and scored for easy installation as well as the fiberboard panel and vinyl flap that hides the jack. We include a new fabric spare tire cover (1964-66 owners will re-use the original vinyl 12” flap with the embossed Lincoln star). 1966-67 convertible owners will re-use the original gray plastic panels to hide the deck pump and the rear wall of the trunk. The 1961 trunk area was originally covered in a plaid vinyl. We offer the 61 kits in the plush gray material available in 1962.

1961-67 Convertible Top Kit ........................................................................................................................................ $495.00 We make our convertible tops from the same heavy pinpoint texture vinyl as original. The underside is smooth black as original as well. We include the proper padding that mounts between the convertible top material and the bows of the top framework. The electrical wiring harnesses route through these and replacing them helps the top to have a smoother appearance. We install heavy reinforced elastic material in the lower rear corners of the top assembly to help keep the material close to the frame. The 1961-65 clear back window is included in kits for those years as is the top material section at the bottom of the 1966-67 glass window. Professional installation is recommended for best results.
