Behavioral Health Services

Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska is a 123-year-old organization with a long history of human care service delivery.

It is one of Nebraska’s largest behavioral health care providers and assumed delivery of core behavioral health services to over 1,700 Lancaster County clients in 2014.

• Health 360SM (an integrated health care partnership with People’s Health Center)

• On-site pharmacy at the Health 360SM facility

• Individual, Group and Family Mental Health Therapy and Counseling

• Psychiatric Medication Management

• Community support and case management for the severely mentally ill

• Alcohol/Substance Use/Addictions Assessment and Outpatient Treatment

• Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment

• At Ease (for active military, veterans and their loved ones)

Children Services

In 1892 Lutheran Family Services (LFS) began serving children through orphanages in Fremont and Omaha. Today, LFS continues

its commitment to create and restore safe and happy childhoods.

• Treatment for children and families impacted by child sexual abuse (RSafe®)

• Children’s Behavioral Health (early childhood behavioral health for those ages five and under; and mental health for children and youth, including trauma and attachment therapies)

• Pregnancy, Parenting and Adoption Services

• Wendy’s Wonderful Kids (LFS is the sole Nebraska partner of Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, a program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption that aggressively seeks permanency for youth in foster care)

Community Services

LFS welcomes and supports immigrants and refugees, providing support, guidance and empowerment to achieve self-sufficiency.

• Refugee Resettlement

• Special Immigrant Visas (for citizens of Afghanistan and Iraq who were employed by or on behalf of the U.S. government)

• Behavioral health therapy and case management for new populations

• Refugee Education and Employment Program

What are the costs?

Fees vary by office, program and practitioner. Check your insurance policy about services covered, deductible

requirements, co-payments and pre-certification. Many LFS therapists accept vouchers through the state probation/parole system. If you do not have health insurance or other coverage, a sliding fee scale—based on family income and number of family members—is available.
